News: ESPN Dallas: NFL owners meetings review

    NEW ORLEANS -- The first day of the two-day NFL owners meetings is done, and we'll recap.

    1. The NFL sent out some lawyers to speak with reporters on background regarding the lockout and then Jeff Pash, the NFL's executive vice president for labor and legal counsel, held a news conference. The biggest thing regarding this is Pash and the rest of the league believe the players union walked out and forced a lockout. NFL officials also said it's their right to lock out the players much like it's the union's right to decertify. It was interesting to hear Pash and the league lawyers talk about whether the players are still part of a union. After the union decertified, it became a trade association, but the league said the players are acting like a union.
