ARLINGTON, Texas -- Defensive tackle Jason Hatcher's career year ended on a personal high note. Now, he's preparing to go to the highest bidder. Hatcher, an eight-year veteran, was a dominant force in what could have been his final game for the Dallas Cowboys. He padded his career-high sack total with a pair in the 24-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, giving him 11 this season. He added forced a fumble. It's the kind of film that will make Hatcher appealing for teams searching for a disruptive defensive lineman in free agency this offseason.

Good season for him, but he's the definition of the kind of guy you let go in free agency. Past 30, some injury history, one really good season(on top of solid ones). We'd have to overpay to keep him and just can't afford to do so. Someone else will overpay him and we'll get a compensatory pick out of it. Maybe he has one or two more really solid seasons and people rue, but letting him go will be the right decision.

his options are stay here and lose....or go somewhere else, cash in and have a better chance of winning.

seems like he is gonna pick the wise option.
