A year ago, Johnny Manziel jumpstarted a stale Texas A&M program. This season, the Sooners are banking Trevor Knight can do the same for them, writes Jake Trotter. Blog

NORMAN, Okla. -- R.J. Washington's words were foretelling.

    "Everybody's excited [about
Blake Bell] but people have to watch out for Trevor [Knight]," the former Oklahoma defensive end said in November. "Don't count him out; he's going to surprise a lot of people."

Eight months later, coach Bob Stoops announced Knight would be Oklahoma's starting quarterback.

Knight beat out the Jr. Bell for the job. I guess we'll see what Stoops sees in him.

Knight is good, Briles wanted him...not sure what this says of Bell though since he blew his chance to start.

From reports in Norman, Knight won the job as opposed to Bell losing it. What this means as far as production on the field is to be determined but I feel confident in Stoops ability to put the right guy on the field.

The Big 12 is a five team race it would appear, and in no particular order it is OU,OSU, TCU, UT and Baylor.
