September, 4, 2011 Sep 47:02PM CTEmail Print Comments By Tim MacMahonFullback Tony Fiammetta officially replaced offensive guard Montrae Holland on the Cowboys’ roster. The reality is that there are at least a couple of more personnel moves to come.

The Cowboys announced Sunday evening that they released Holland and claimed Fiammetta off waivers from the Carolina Panthers. The club did not announce the signing of offensive guard Derrick Dockery, but his agent said earlier in the day that Dockery and the Cowboys have agreed to terms on a one-year deal.

Im sad. I was pulling for my Sooner, Manny Johnson to at least get back on the PS.

I think he is a good WR. Wish he could have got more of a shot w/ Romo and the 1's.

    shrug

    good luck Manny...

The small-school standout had a record-setting season in 2010, recording the most productive season of any wide receiver in the 119-year history of Hillsdale College football, setting school records for receptions (104), and receiving yards (1,368) and catching 11 touchdown passes in the process.

The Sporting News says Holmes "jumped off the film" and is a big play threat:
Holmes is a tall receiver with explosive quickness and home-run speed who can turn short passes into big plays. He was more consistent in '10, making big plays in key situations. He certainly will be at least a late-round pick, but he could fly up boards in the spring with some standout pre-draft workouts.

While Holmes doesn't have elite straight line speed he certainly has an intriguing vertical ability, and his 6.69 three cone drill shows excellent quickness for a player his size. Holmes is the second national draft prospect after Tyron Smith scheduled for a visit at Valley Ranch - that we know about so far.

Wake me when we get a big body in the middle to stuff the run and occupy some blockers to free up our lineman.

7th rounder extra pick acquired in trade down, one of my real favorite pet cats:
WR Andre Holmes, Hillsdale; 6-4, 210, 4.47 to 4.53 ... Another former track star with excellent speed with a chance to shine at the combine; was actually recruited at Hillsdale as a triple jumper - he won the conference title as a freshman - and is relatively new to the game. Made huge strides as a wideout over his career at Hillsdale, though; indeed, caught 104 passes for almost 1,400 yards and 11 TDs as a senior; rangy receiver with long arms and decent hands and was a real match-up problem at the DII level, but has lots to learn about the nuances of the position.

Jerry said it best when he was asked about him and said that he needed to get faster. Not much he can do about that so he just doesn't have enough upside.

I think it's where Cliff Huxtable from the "Cosby Show" went to school. Or maybe one of the Huxtable kids? Theo?

Advertised on conservative talk radio. Excellent school. Just the intangibles Coach likes. Interesting prospect Joe.
