Well as an engineer, it does apply pretty much exactly the way he described, in school we are taught to solve problems.......really the bottomline of engineering. There are plenty of problems on the football field, and with the ability to think like an engineer, it will help solve those problems efficiently and effectively.

Stephen was probably on board with this being that he is a Chemical Engineer himself, and had to at least be on Stephens mind come draft day. Would like to know if Fred actually has the degree or not though.

Cool, I hope he finishes. He will be making millions and he's smart enough to handle his money and not need the degree, but its probably the prettiest undergrad degree to have on the wall, so I hope he gets it just cause he can and not cause he needs to.

People think engineers go to school to be mathematicians/scientists that memorize equations and plug numbers....

That's exactly what they don't want you to be, they train the brain to analyze an entire situation and rationally put together a solution...which is why i think Frederick has a great mind for a center.

I put Subcontracts into place for all types of Engineers....when he ready to leave football and if he takes it back up he will still make six figures a year....

He won't make 6 figures as a newbie. With time he can make a very comfortable living as a engineer but I doubt this will be necessary considering his current state of employment. :)
