    Bouncing ball hasn't done Cowboys justice

    The Dallas Cowboys' season can be summed up in seconds: A penalty here, a missed block there; a turnover here, a missed field-goal attempt there. It's not hard to figure out how they have gotten to 1-6.

    "It's a guy here, a guy there, a play here, a play there," Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said. "... In some games, it was only one play that made a difference. That's frustrating. But that's the reality, and you've got to go with that and try to do something about it."

    When the Cowboys look back on this season, no matter how badly it turns out, they won't be thinking about the season that wasn't. Instead, it'll be the season that could have been.

    This is what bothers me... When you lack disciple, a play here and a play there is a common theme, causing you to lose. Dallas should not have been in that situation in the first place...
