Ehhhh........I thinks he Giants success on defense had more to do with Collins jump to year 2 then it did spending 200 million on that defense. If they knew Collins would've did what he did they probably would've thought twice about spending that much. But they didn't see it coming. Now they are out here with a defense that holds teams to 14 points but a offense that can't put up 14 points due to lack of a running game and offensive line and Eli.

could be right, but about their offense, the coaching and schemes play calling , players use, game plans, all that comes into play too.
I dont blame the players totally for the bad offense.

It amazes me that every team still has an OC calling all the plays, If I had brady , rodgers, romo, eli , and any other vet who was smart,
I would have them call the plays, and just send them info and suggestions.
I think you coach them all week on how to call the game, but during game let them call the plays.

Its easy, we are saving our money on whats matter and that's our own players. We sign Carr to a huge contract and to be honest he didn't live up to it. We sign Hardy and he was a cancer. T.O was a train wreck and the list goes on. On top of that FA is way too over price right now. It is best to sign solid players in FA that can actually help this team and try to hit in the draft. Let everyone raid this team this year because next year we will get the comp picks.

The giants are following the same method that have failed the Skins and eagles for years...you don't build a championship team with overpriced free agents. The worse your drafting is the more you have to use free agency. It's a vicious cycle that's hard to break, look how many non flashy drafts we had to endure with drafting the Oline to pull out of playing the FA game as well, but it sure was worth it.

Yeah but for the Giants.....that offensive line was pretty bad. You sort of put your OC in a hole having to overcome a bad offensive line and a pedestrian running game.

Offensive line isn't great in this draft....they should have a shot at a running back though.

You lose for plenty of reasons. The Patriots got one the last best years of Revis and that was a huge reason for their Super Bowl success.

The Redskins were buying on name alone, not need. But even when they paid for a guy like Norman, he was actually a big player for them irrespective. He wasn't the reason they lost games and he earned his check relative to other top corners.

Then again a Garrett brother is head of Pro scouting. McClay deals primarily with college.

You were 13-3 so close, so now we have to wait 2 more years? The reason most of these guys are gone is because they have no clue how to handle the cap, everyone knows that. This team never has money because of the way they do biz

That is a myth. Almost between 80-90% of the league is in our same position. Well built teams like NE and Steelers have little to no cap. You may ask how? Because like us they are paying to retain their players , they spend market value to keep their qb, pass rushers etc.

Just looked, NE has or had at the start of FA 26 million, we had 0, we had to restructure 3 contracts just to get under the cap.

The problem was the OL. And they signed Jerry and Fluker. Who arent any better then the guys they had. This draft isnt a good one to find OL. NY can have all the WRs in the world. But if he cant throw to them it dont matter. And NY WRs were vocal on Eli last yr.

That couldn't be further from the truth.

You don't pay average players more than they are worth.

Had the Cowboys signed all those players that left for the same deal they got, this message board would have Bar-B-Qued Jerry Jones beyond belief.

Yeah its 20M something and the Cowboys are at 10M. Its not like that's a huge piece of change there. Once we kick the rocks on Romo we will have almost 20 M too.
