Seeing that Reed plays FS I wonder how soon they are going to see Hamlin's tackling prowess on the strongside?

1 year deal likely means he'll be a stud this season.

Ravens signed S Ken Hamlin to a one-year contract.

It's interesting to note that the Ravens chose to sign a safety after also working out corners Ken Lucas and Walt Harris. The natural reaction is that the team still has some concern than Ed Reed (hip surgery) won't be back up to full speed for the early part of the season. Hamlin has lost his playmaking ability the last two seasons, so he was never going to land more than a one-year "prove it" deal as an insurance policy. Jun. 17 - 2:31 pm et

Exactly. That's the case with most of these guys.

He'll get at least 4 INTs this year.

I'm pretty sure Hamlin was already playing for the Ravens on Dec 20, 2008.

He darn sure wasn't playing for us.

Play well enough for a new contract and then disappear just like he did in Dallas.

He'll probably work out pretty good for the Ravens.

After browsing a few ravens forums (yes who wouldnt thought there would actually be some) It seems like the consensus is surprise because the CB position seems like more of a need for them but they are overall ok with it because hes being brought in as a back up. However not many had much positive to say about his play.

theo loved Ken Hamlin the way eduncan(?) loved Jacque Reeves if memory serves me right.

As soon as Reeves left, eduncan left too.
