Hatcher sounds so typical that they could've taken that quote from Madden Franchise Mode.
Not that I'm upset with him at all, he earned that payday. I just thought maybe we'd get a little something other than "I gotta do what's best for me". We get that, you've made that perfectly clear through media interviews, social media, etc.
I wish him the best either way.

I don't think that is going to be the case.

But they will be replaced by younger, hungrier players that can play right off the bat..

..instead of guys like Hatcher that take 4 years to develop..

..expecting to make the big bucks like they are a foundation type player..

..after one year of solid play.

As they say on Game Day..

You got your money you wanted since week one congrats. Redskins made a great signing! Only overpaid by 12-15 million

    One thing is for certain.

There is one thing which has been proven over the years.

It is trait which Jerry Jones and Jason Hatcher have shown they both share.

And that trait is that both men do not know how to shut the hell up.

Congratulations Mr. Hatcher. You got paid but regret having to leave home to do it. It's not a foreign concept in free agency. Good luck for the rest of your career and adios.

"They didn't show no signs they wanted me back."

That's a funny quote on several levels.

He made it abundantly clear that he was about getting paid.

It didn't matter who, it didn't matter where, it didn't matter in what role.

As long as he got paid.

Sounds like a great recipe for somebody mailing it in right after they get the check.

Given the early numbers regarding what the Redskins paid, I'm glad to see him go there.

To take that big of a chunk of their cap space.

To play in a scheme that he was good, not great in.

And, to likely mail it in now that he's been paid.

We've got plenty of issues of our own, but I'm glad that he is no longer one of them.

I love how Hatcher is suddenly a one year wonder. He was a late bloomer but he played very well for Rob Ryan in a ~gasp~ 3-4 defense.

I would never sign him to that contract at his age but this notion that he was completely ineffective in a 3-4 is nonsense fan spin.

Only thing that would have been better is if he would have signed with the Giants.

Wasn't Hatcher saying early in camp that Ben Bass would be the reason Hatcher would no longer be a Cowboy in 2014? Teams have to go younger. He understood that from the beginning. It sounds like he is a little bitter and wanted to stay with the Cowboys. He got paid. He should be happy.

I would like to hear how much Seattle offered him. I think Washington overpaid. Perhaps they were bidding against Oakland or Tenn. But, I really hope that Washington was just bidding against themselves and got hoodwinked by the agent.

Hate losing a guy so familiar with our schemes to a division rival.

If someone told me a few years ago the Redskins would pay over 50 million for Bowens and Hatcher, I would have jumped for joy that Snyder would be that dumb. Especially since Hatcher excelled in a position the Redskins don't have in a 3-4.

Givin Ratliff and Spencer a butt load of money last year worked out so well that he can't really be that surprised.

Damn you guys are so hard on these guys. These reporters are ASKING them questions about their departure and they are answering them. No need to insult the player. Any one of you in his same situation would follow the money. You'd even follow the money to Oakland or Jacksonville if you were in his situation. Jason knows he wasn't going to get that contract here.

Depends on the version of the 3-4. He was playing pretty well in Phillips 3-4, I believe. But in Parcells' more traditional 3-4, he was ran over and not a consistent pass rusher.

I hope they make him take on blockers and he spends the rest of his career in obscurity.
