He did at one point, but it looked like he'd lost some of his magic even before he went to Cleveland. If they passed on Wentz at #2 last year - and a rookie deal - to give up #12 AND a huge money contract to Garopolo, they're morons. No two ways about it.

If it's unsupported, it's unsupported. It's an apt description. I'm not trying to be insulting, but that's what it is.

yup...then watch them take a guy like Davis Webb....sit him behind Brady for a year or 2...and then just keep rolling. Webb reminds of Brady when he came out of Michigan...It's scary. Nobody is talking about this guy. You hear whispers he could be a late 1st....but it's sounds like agents trying to push him up the draft board. Regardless...IMO Webb has the "it" factor...and he could be the steal of the draft if your patient w/ him.

Pats trade a late 1st for Brandin Cooks. Wouldn't be surprised if the puts up 1,500 yards and 12 TDs.

Trade Jimmy G for a 1st rounder and turn that pick into an all-pro. They keep showing they are the smartest team in the league.

I agree with everything you said. That'd be embarrassingly stupid, especially with their wealth of picks in the first 2 rounds.

If anything, they'll target a guy with their 12, or move up from their 2nd since they have a lot of picks.

I can't imagine anyone would be so dumb to trade a top 15 pick for Jimmy G. They'd basically be cementing their fate in their own Conference.

I took the time to go through this from the start.
IF by wild chance it does happen...
Here's what Cleveland will have traded and received for that 2nd overall pick last year...after all the wheeling and dealin.

    Clevland gave up:
2016 1(2). So chance to grab Wentz
    2017 4(139)

    Clevland receives:
    Jimmy Garopollo (2017 1-12)
    2017 2nd
    2018 2nd
    Corey Coleman, WR (2016 1-15)
    Shon Coleman, OT (2016 3-76)
    Cody Kessler, QB (2016 3-93)
    Ricardo Lewis, WR (2016 4-114)
    Derrick Kindred, S (2016 4-129)
    Jordan Payton, WR (2016 5-154)
    Spencer Drango, OT (2016 5-168)

I guess we'll know someday who did better.

Don't forget that contract they would have to give Garropolo. And compare it to what it what Wentz will cost on his rookie deal.

As a matter of fact, it will probably cost more than all of the other players on that list combined.

Brady also helped them by given them a discount mainly because his hot wife makes more than him. I have read where there are 8 qbs that make more than him and they only have a total of 1 SB compare to his 6

Let's face it folks, the Browns screwed up when they had the chance to draft God as their qb but traded their rights away to the Eagles.

    Yep
I don't think cap is an issue for them, but I hear you. It would begin in 2018

Wentz would have 3 years plus the bump year left..though it would be a fairly pricey rookie deal for the 2nd overall

Garopollo has one year, then gets paid big

Cleveland could easily get the 2nd pick from San Fran by trading #12, #33 and #52. Willing to bet that SF would take it. Doesn't fit the Jimmy Johnson trade chart but more than fits the Harvard Trade chart that most teams are going by these days. Then it wouldn't surprise me to see Washington trade with SF and Cousins go to SF for those same three picks plus a 2nd in 2018. Washington would have 5 picks in the top 52.

if Cleveland was smart they should trade the #1 pick in this draft and keep stocking up valuable picks...Myles Garrett isnt going to get them over the top.
