Rams coach Jeff Fisher says Rob Ryan told him he was leaving to work for Sean Payton by walking in office and dropping keys on his desk

If the Rams didnt hire Rob Ryan, how could this be an issue or even true?

He got hired then canned. He never actally got hired and the Rams decided he wasn't gonna be hired. He got hired and a week later dropped his keys on Fisher's desk and quit in order to go coach the Saints defense. Too much misinformation.

It was REPORTED that the Rams hired him.

Then it was REPORTED they didnt really hire him becasue he wasnt a good fit . . . .

Now it is being REPORTED that he drops his keys on Fisher's desk, even tho he was hired, but not really hired.

If they ever redo The Wizard of Oz, they need to make sure The Cowardly Lion after he transforms looks like Rob Ryan. :D

The truth is probably somewhere among those. Possibly, Ryan had a deal in the place with the Rams, then the Saints showed interest, so Ryan drops the keys on Fisher's desk and says he's going to New Orleans. Rams cover by saying he wasn't a good fit.

He might not have officially been hired anywhere at that time.

They didn't have a formal contract in place. That's probably not uncommon. You hire a coach on a handshake and get the paperwork in place later. It isn't like with a player where there is a real chance of injury that might impact the contract

Maybe Ryan threw down his own keys for emphasis? Or maybe he still had a set to Valley Ranch? :)

I admit that part's a little strange considering, but the whole thing kind of is.
