He's our best CB and it's a passing league. Ideally I'd keep a DL but Ware and Hatcher are in their 30s. Carr's still just 27.
Berry, Thomas, McCoy, RG3, Rice, Miller, Peterson, and Luck would not be available. Rice being the most expendable and Luck being indispensable.
my exact moves as well.
head coach either belichik or mike tomlin
For those not keeping romo, what qb do you expect to be a available?
For those not picking Romo...I don't think you understand the rules, lol.
Those speaking of Ray Rice, have you watched him (at all) this season?
How is it that people can't understand the premise of the "game" here? People want to pick up whomever they want in some cases....especially the HC? Why would a belechick be on your wish list? Is he getting fired? Tomlin? maybe
for me, I take T.Smith, Mr Frederick, Tony Romo, Sean Lee, Dez Bryant
My targets for the fictitious draft are the best OL & DL in the first 4 rounds (minimum), whomever isn't in a Top 5 on the other teams
Dez is inconsistent?
I wonder how many players from Dallas would not be drafted by other teams...
It depends on win now vs building a team to win in 2 or 3 years.
In the win now option, you must keep Romo.
In the build a team option, you might be able to redo Romo's contract such that he has trade value. You would have to essentially pay a big part of his salary to get other teams to give up premium draft picks. The draft picks would have to be much more valuable than the 5th player that you didn't keep.
I would go the build a team option and try to trade everybody that I keep like Dez and Lee. I would just tank the 1st season, get the top pick and draft a QB. I would make OLine the #1, #2 and #3 priority after getting the Franchise QB. I would keep Fred and Tyron and trade Dez and Lee for OLinemen if possible. If free agency still exists, then I would only sign OLinemen. After the QB I would draft OLinemen.
Once I've assembled the greatest OLine in history with backups that would start on other teams to go with the Franchise QB, then I would start focusing on the other offensive positions. Eventually I would have a dominant offense and a high school defense.
I want an offense that can get at least 3 yards on a run at any time and can beat up defenses while also having a dynamic passing game.
Defenses can be developed faster than offenses. I would only put resources into the defense when it didn't take anything away from building the offense.
My plan would probably take about 4 or 5 years to peak but the offense would be fun to watch after about 2 years.
start that search each draft
this is a rebuilding scenario Romo doesn't have that time
Like the Colts wouldn't secure Luck?
When the Draft is over could we pick up former players., via waivers or Fa?
I'm keeping Lee, Witten, Hatcher, Carr, and T. Smith
Assuming the other teams keep the obvious players...
I'd target Sheldon Richardson, Jay Cutler, Eric Reid, Julius Thomas, Casey Heyward,
