Returning kicks yes, in man to man coverage no! This opens up Rob Ryans defense to Blitz like he really wants to.

They say that as a returner (ie, explosive player) Peterson is better, but Claiborne is a more polished CB.

As a corner, I'll take Claiborne.

If Claiborne can lock down top wars like Peterson did Dez, I'll be happy

Didn't happen. Claiborne is the better cover guy, Peterson is the better physical specimen.

Yeah, I'd think Peterson has a way bigger upside based on his physical talent.

I'm a little concerned about Claiborne's pedestrian explosive numbers.

He blankets guys, though. And tracks the ball well, with good reaction. His combine numbers don't worry me in the slightest.

me too. And his tackling seem to be flawed....but I love his ball skills (something we need more of in the secondary)

I'd argue he did lock down Dez pretty well. Dez was visibly frustrated and almost never got open. He ended up with some catches and yards but a lot of both came on the quick passes. He got no separation down the field. Pete was in his pocket.

Eh...I think you have to say that Dez won more battles than not in that game. He was productive and involved throughout the game.

It was his 2nd most productive game all season.

I agree and seem to remember (I think Broaddus) pointing it out in one of his column the week after the Arizona game.

Dez also scored on him and I was not impressed with Peterson as a CORNER last season. Granted he was a rookie. His return skills overshadowed his bad corner play, JMO.

It depends if you're a redskin fan or not, you'll try in vain to demote Claiborne but fact is both corners are the best to be drafted in a decade.

Not Since Champ Bailey and terenace newman have better first rounders been available, Newman was once a stud lest we forget.

Claiborne has play making ability, something this team is sorely lacking.

PP is physical, and Dez gets stymied when he can't win those fights.

I like MC a lot better than PP at corner. Peterson's return abilities make him special, though.

Garrett said workout warriors look great at the combine but the film is the truth.
