Maybe Jerry will hire him as the new GM.
(you said make believe)
..............and Campo is still a coach here, try and figure that one out.
Here is a question for the Tuna, at the time I did not post on here I would just read what everyone had to say. As a matter of fact you did not need an account to go on here then. Parcell took Bledsoe as a veteran QB, does anybody remember what superbowl winning and future hall of fame qb was also available during his time here? I kept hoping they would go after him but they never did, he ended up with a team that has been kicking our behind quite a bit recently and won a superbowl and lost one with them. He could have been in Dallas if our front office really new how to evaluate talent and I don't care if 31 other teams passed on him I only care about ours and with the play we were getting at quarterback he would have been a definite upgrade. Besides I think had they gotten him he would have been the perfect leader for a young team and the guy to put T.O. in his place. Yes I will say it, we would have won a superbowl if he came here.
We would have had another trophy.
Huh..........Kurt Warner? It's the only name that remotely makes sense and he was with St. Louis when Parcells arrived and did not become available till 2005.
And with out him we would be a mediocre team.............. oh shnizzel.
I'm beyond exhausted.
I've had high hopes for the team since 2005, and don't have anything remotely close to a success. And I don't call success ONLY being a Super Bowl.
Why are you talking in circles? Are you saying Parcells passed on a QB that both won and lost a super bowl while Parcells was in Dallas? Only Pittsburgh and New England qualify if that is your parameters and the whole 31 teams passed addition removes Ben.
Yeah I figured he must have made a mistake. Nobody fits.
My guess was Drew Brees.
hope your bet wasn't against another Cowboys fan, that the Boys wouldn't make the playoffs.
I hate pretend fans.
Being a realist makes you a "pretend" fan? This team has been inconsistent all year and came up short time and time again in big games. Were you surprised they choked? I sure wasn't. I didn't make any bets, but I figured the second Garrett iced Bailey the wheels were surely coming off.
Thank goodness we avoided that!
Imagine what would of happened to this team if we had two complete drafts (16 picks) where only 7 of the players were still on the active roster just 6 and 7 years later!
Considering that's the last time Jerry did not mettle in the process.........oops
Seriously people, look at Parcells draft record here..........I mean seriously
1 Terence Newman
2 Al Johnson
3 Jason Witten
4 Bradie James
6 B. J. Tucker
6 Zuriel Smith
7 Justin Bates
2 Julius Jones
2 Jacob Rogers
3 Stephen Peterman
4 Bruce Thornton
5 Sean Ryan
7 Nathan Jones
7 Patrick Crayton
7 Jacques Reeves
1 DeMarcus Ware
1 Marcus Spears
2 Kevin Burnett
4 Marion Barber III
4 Chris Canty
6 Justin Beriault
6 Rob Petitti
7 Jay Ratliff
1 Bobby Carpenter
2 Anthony Fasano
3 Jason Hatcher
4 Skyler Green
5 Pat Watkins
6 Montavious Stanley
7 Pat McQuistan
7 E. J. Whitley
I mean really, he gets too much credit. He totally tanked the 2006 and 2004 drafts. If it was not for his 2005 draft where truth be told he had to be talked into DeMarcus Ware and vocally wanted to take Spears with the same pick he took Ware with and hit on Witten in Newman his first year it would go down as the worst 4 year stretch in history.
yeah you were so happy for having campo
Some people just cannot see the forrest for the trees
Being a realist or not, you shouldn't bet agains the team you root for.
Parcells is the only reason we have any chance to contend today. He completely turned around this franchise and did so joined at the hip with Jerry. That's tough to do.
To claim he leaves when the going gets tough is laughable. This is a guy who joins awful teams and rebuilds them. He's not some Phil Jackson of the NFL here.
Wait what? Because I did not like the Parcells hiring I had to like the Campo hiring?
Made more money betting against them.:
And the Parcells drafts are a ton better than the garbage we had here from 1994-2002.
Pick any 4 years you want. They all sucked large.
I don't disagree (HATE the Carpenter & Spears picks), because '04 and '06 were terrible.
That said, drafting two future Hall of Famers in '03 & '05 (although by most reports Jerry actually made the Ware selection) ain't bad.
