I'm in the minority, but I feel good about this. Kiffin is old, but as long as his mind still works and he has the drive to get the players the buy into the system, I think the change will be very effective. The personnel may not be here yet, but that is no reason to be discouraged. We have a good core of young, talented LB's and CB's to build around.

He's gonna be 1 of the many cash burdening cuts Jerry is gonna make in the offseason.

To my knowledge, he was the only interview.

Focus in on the o-line and you are absolutely correct!

Callahan was brought in to spin straw into gold but it didn't work. I wonder if the o-line will be totally neglected again this April?

The problem with that is you don't build around your LBs and CBs.

You do realize that the Cowboys LOSE cap space by cutting Ratliff, right?

So the Rooney Rule hasn't been expanded to coordinators , I assume.

As for Lovie. He was still interviewing for HC positions--including at San Diego.

Lovie would've been a one and done guy if he came anyway. Kiffin has no desire to become a head coach and if this works out well, he'll stay and name his successor to take over once he retires.

Don't hold me to that. Maybe it'll come out they did talk to other people. I just only heard about Kiffin.

I for one am Glad, being that I played MLB or Mike in the 4-3, I was tired of the read and react D of the 3-4 that Bill uses and Rob was just clueless and lost in the type of D he was using, any one put the best cover corner on the team at safety is just a nut, Goodby. Zimmer was sound and always in the top ten D, but he will used a different type of the 4-3 D that Monte will use, but I do like a attacking 4-3 D and that is just what this D will do, attack and make plays.. For a change..

Was not thrilled with the idea when it was mentioned as a possibility. Ready to get fully behind it now. Hoping his college years was an aberration and he gets back to what he does at a high level in the pros.

Good question. I would have been far happier if they were announcing Smith as the DC.

Secondly, if the reason Kiffin get a free pass for his defenses awful performance at USC because of recruiting sanctions, how does Ryan not get the same benefit for all the injuries his defense suffered???

On the Cowboys Break, they were saying in the last few months of the season, Rob was not attending defensive meetings and instead it was Eberflus running the sessions.

Eberflus was the technician and the organizer essentially the "brain" of the defense, Rob was the bravado and was obviously disorganized.

Further, Henderson was apparently not happy with Rob being missing as well, on the Cowboys Break they suggested there was some discord on the defensive staff especially towards the end of the season.
