I don't have a secret source.
But I do know who has a secret sauce.
That's what I thought. You know nothing.
Already did. Read above. Don't care about the player, don't think he is any better than what we already paid for.
Didn't see that coming but always knew he would get more than we would or should pay.
Good deal for Allen, I didnt think he would get that type of contract, so I can see why he is not in Dallas.
Glad the team passed...he doesn't make any sense on a rebuilding Defense.
I'd go back to the Shaun Phllips idea if he were a reasonable deal. Guy knows how to get to the QB. I know most of his career he has been a 3-4 OLB. Has he played DE in a 4-3?
The Bear's signings of Houston and Willie Young were much more impressive than this one for an aging player who was overall below average last year.
If you sign a player like him, you are basically asking him for limited snaps with his hand on the ground. He played DE in Denver's nickel, so there is not a lot of difference.
His lack of quick twitch athleticism (slow off the line as well) shows me he is not the way to go in the first. Would rather Barr (will be gone) or even Ford in a trade down if Donald/Pryor are gone.
We should have restructured Ware. More on point, we should have waited to cut him so this decision was more clear.
Very true, I liked Houston before I saw the contract he received. Seems too high for an average pass rusher.
Or just stick with the pick and take the player highest on your board. If it is an OL, OLB, S, WR, whatever.
Forcing a DL pick is something we have done in similar situations before and we paid for it.
I'm kind of giddy that the Seahawks didn't sign him.
so they are able to upgrade their talent becasue they are weighed down by past poor decisions?
this too does not make any sense because:
1. we can do anything with the cap and have not made poor decisions (stephen jones)
2. we are not rebuilding because we have tony on the roster (jerry jones)
3. anyone with half a brain (and i mean that ) knows that great defences are built by having 'great' CBs and rely on coverage sacks. perhaps you are new to football so i would recommend you google "coverage sacks" if you doubt me (the CZ intelligencia)
True, but we all know the draft is "BPA based on a position of need" more so than we want to admit.
it is those 10 other DL on their roster that dont make me so giddy
That's got to sting for Vikings fans seeing him go to the Bears. It'd be like Ware going to Philly.
I think the moneyin this deal is reasonable but the 4 year deal for an older player isn't. I never expected the Cowboys would get this deal done and frankly glad they are not tied to allen on a 4 year deal
