I'd actually prefer Phillip Thomas, but I can see him grabbing TJ, not a baaaaad, but not great.
Fun Fact: Phillip Thomas defensive back coach is Tim McDonald, TJ's father. TJ was widely recruited out of high school, where his father Tim, was the head coach and trained him up.
Matt Johnson becomes Kiffin's old John Lynch :duh:
Has MK only done the Tampa 2 or has he run other types of D?
We've been running the 3-4 for almost 10 years. It's not working, probably because we can't draft worth a crap, but changing to a 4-3 can't be worse. If Lee, Carter, Ware stay healthy, we can compete on the same level as a 3-4 ran by Ryan.
Crap, that's true...
Well, I sure hope our FO stays focused on the trenches this year.
I think :
ware - rat - hatcher - spencer
Is a beautiful DL in a 4-3 !
Spencer will not be in Dallas
I wasn't open to it either, but now I don't think we have a choice.
If the change is made, we just have to keep TRat cause we have noone that can pressure at DT without him and they are hard to find anyway.
Spencer would probably be gone, so we would need a strong side DE, which isn't on the team right now. We would also need a safety big time, as they are needed for the system and ours aren't anywhere near good enough to play it.
Hopefully whoever we hire will mold the system (if its a 4-3) around our personnel, cause right now we are nowhere near ready for it.
Yes he will they will simply franchise him again .
u mean RG3 and the redskins??
Good thing the draft this year is expected to be deep for both. Maybe that's going into their thinking.
For 11 million bucks? Doubt it.
Was a big need along with both lines obviously.
Vaccarro out of Texas. Don't know if he;d be there at @ 18.
LOL and where will they find the cap to do that? Sign FAs and sign their draft picks?
Kawaan short is a guy to watch in the draft too out of purdue .
God i hope not Vaccarro.
Pat Kirwan said on sirius Kiffin doesn't run a true tampa 2 like everyone thinks. He said he runs 3 basic coverages, keeps a simple approach but is very strong in the nuances of the game. He likes fast players and requires players to squeeze a receiver in a box/window.
He also said he's a smoker and likes the move if he surrounds himself with young assistants.
No threat to the head coach and you wont hear a peep out of him with the media
I think Ratliff is gone but again, if he were to still be here, it would likely be:
Ware - Hatcher - Ratliff- Spencer.
The likely DL if you had to fill out a depth chart today would probably look like this IMO:
Ware - Lissimore - Hatcher - Crawford
Albright - Schaefering - Draft - Bass
JMO and it is very early in.
Yet we have Church coming off of that horrible injury coming back, who was already slow. Then Sensy....god this sounds like a nightmare really.
It just doesn't fit our personnel.
