Is he trolling?
we will never know what could've been
You already have the 34 yr old version of Manziel on your team, he's a poor man's Romo, same attributes as a player, both pro and con, but with less football IQ.
Jerry just cant help himself
Good lord and here I was lauding you for finally making the right choice. You turn around and tell people you wanted to draft him and will have second thoughts your entire career. What is Martin supposed to think about comments like that? For the love of all that is good and wholesome Jerry, if someone puts a mic in your face just say no comment.
One of the few things that might crush Garrett is if Manziel turns out to be a player. Jerry's going to be so upset. He sees those jersey sales figures. It happened to Rob with Claiborne.
Well, with Cleveland's recent track record on 1st round draft picks, chances are Manziel will be available within a year or two.
Who cares? Jerry is just generating news for talking heads as always.
If you missed here is the video of JJ talking about Manziel at the 3:57 mark.
Jerry always likes talking about "almost" after the draft. Some team cut in front of him, he jumped in front of some other team, some player he was going to draft, etc. Jerry likes to talk. Kind of meaningless after the fact, other than it gets him more attention.
Yes, he's trolling.
He had some other cryptic talk in there about "making the right decision" or something. I rewound my DVR three times trying to decipher what he meant, and I couldn't understand it.
So much for everyone who said there was zero chance wed take him
Its not evident that there absolutely was a chance
sheesh he was damn near in tears!
JJ needs to shut up. You didn't draft the guy so move on. JJ is only making these comments for attention as he is jealous how much JFF is getting.
You know JJ vale his $$$$$
Jerry has been watching the nonstop training camp coverage on NFLN and seeing how much airtime JF has been getting. Then he learns JF has the #1 selling jersey and has to say something to make sure his voice is heard somehow. He can't help himself.
I think it was more of a dramatic retelling rather than what really happened.
He made the right choice. Just look at how messed up manziel already us. He has bust written all over him.
Watching the part from about 4:35 on... Very confusing Jerryspeak, but in talking about taking the risk and how if he'd made this same kind if decision he'd never have bought the Cowboys, it's so obvious he wanted so much to take Manziel. Forget Garrett, Jerry may disown Stephen if Manziel hits.
And LOL at people saying he's lying or trolling in saying this. Why would he do that?
