Randy Galloway said he talked to Jimmy Johnson. Jimmy said that if I'm a secure coach with 3 or 5 years left, no way do I sign TO. But if I'm a coach that has 1 year and needs to win now, then I do it. It won't work in the long run, but it may in the short term.

His column tomorrow will be on his interview with Jimmy...

Galloway went on to say that at training camp last year that Parcells said "I don't want characters, I want Character. I am too old to deal with characters...

agreed. i've said all along he's going the WIN NOW approach and *if* TO is a cowboy, that's exactly what he's doing.

    Parcells Isn't secure!

That's Jimmy's way of baiting Parcells.

Parcells isn't staying more than one more year anyway.

Jimmy Knows Owens is good for the Cowboys...Hence the bait!:D

Remember hearing that last year, and I beleave it. The thing I have trouble wrapping my head around is, If he was leaveing after this year and was hell bent on a win now mentality - wouldn't we be a hell of a lot more active in free agency? He would surely be filling all the holes at what ever price - but their not - sooo....

When your coach sells out he not only sells his credibility and reputation. He also sells out the future of your club. As the man in charge of rebuilding the Cowboys. It is really starting to look like a colossal failure.

I am almost ready to wish Parcells had of retired if hes gunna start playing russian Roulette with the Cowboys.

Gee. Maybe the conventional wisdom is not entirely accurate.

Maybe we are trying to win while also preparing for the future.

    That would be one explanation.

But it isn't an explanation which allows fans to b***h and moan, so its not the one talked about.

After 10 years without a playoff win, I sure would like to win now.

Niether one of us is getting any younger.

    Or better looking...

    Or thinner....

    Or hairier...except on my back...

Here is another thought, Maybe Parcells wants to win not just now but how about 3 in a row. First coach to do that as well as take three teams to the superbowl. How could you close out a coaching career any better?

If there's one person whose opinion I value more than anyone else, it isn't Randy Galloway.

Jimmy Johnson's opinion ranks a little higher in the book, but I'm not sure that it's all that relevant in this case. Other than the fact that Randy has his cell phone number handy for a quote when nobody else in the current Dallas regime is willing to talk to him.

When does the Barry Switzer opinion piece hit the presses? How about the Deion Sanders column? The Charles Haley blog?

And for the love of God, what does Rush Limbaugh think?

Isn't this the state of the NFL today. That's how this league is geared. Everyone is in a win now mode. There's just too much turnover

Jimmy Johnson is sitting back and just waiting for Parcells to retire. Jimmy Johnson will be the second coach Jerry Jones lures out of retirement, and Boys fans are going to lose their minds!!!

I have no insider knowledge of the situation, but it seems that every year Jimmy Johnson's name is thrown out in speculation that he may be interested in a coaching job and Jimmy quickly states that his interest in a particular job is overblown (I believe the last one was a college job).

I think the ONLY job that Jimmy is waiting on is the Cowboys job. Jimmy is the same kind of animal that Parcells is. This s**t is just in their blood. Eventully the beast wins and they're sucked back in. My bold prediction of the year is that by this time next year, the Cowboys will have announced that Jimmy is the new coach of the Cowboys.

Whew! NOW maybe we can talk about something other than T.O.
