Jimmy Johnson also said that Jason Garrett has to help romo out to, put him in just 3 step drop when you have a lead, or critical situation like in cowboys 49ers game when troy aikman threw the quick slant to alvin harper, with just a 3 step drop. Jimmy also said if romo kept the mistakes up in critical situations that romo would be with jimmy on sidelines during the game, not on the field.

Jimmy would also not have us in shotgun formation when all thats needed is 2 yards.

Romo needs to protect the entire "situational" game.
Romo needs to protect the 4th quarter "situational" game.

If we can run and D the game out until the end. He cannot give teams chances to make big plays on fumbles and INT's.

now thats a real coaches thought pattern...thats what i am talking about...some have low standards and some have high...thats where the arguments happen here on the zone...some have forgotten how good roger and troy actually were....

This. Romo's decision making is an extension of Garrett's playcalling and scheming.

Someone please let a few of the people in the "yet another Garrett/Romo hate" thread. Several of us posted what Johnson said and other agreed and then all the people assuming it is a hate thread on Garrett and Romo lost their minds. Johnson hit it spot on in this.

I think its a short dead on assessment by Jimmy. He isn't trashing the player...just making an honest observation most would agree with.

seems the situation was Dallas needed a boost after kitna threw his 2nd int and Romo comes in to lead this team to a win. Talking with Holly on the sidelines and what ever Tony said paid off. Hopefully for a week people will get off Romo back after all he has sore ribs. :laugh2:

I'd say he understands the overtime situation pretty well...
