Tates about 6'3. I don't think he's a legit 6'4. And no way he's to big to play safety. Go tell that to Adrian Wilson, arguably the best S in the NFL. Tate moves incredibly well and he's very fluid, has great instincts, and he's really intimidating. I think if he impresses at the combine he'll go late first, early 2nd.

Tate, much like Taylor Mays, belongs at Strong Safety in the NFL. They are both very athletic for a player of their size. They match up well against Tight Ends and big possession receivers.

Tate would be an upgrade over Sensabaugh.

I think he'd be equally successful at FS. Him and Sensy are both interchangeable. Like Polamalu and Clarke.

And don't mention them in the same sentence again. They are both huge. The comparison ends there.

I like Tate and would not mind seeing him with a Star on his helmet but he hardly has Mays' pedigree or speed. I think both will be very good in the NFL.

Anyone care to make a bet Kenny Tate doesn't sniff the 1st or 2nd round?

BTW, I'm not interested in the Sands vs. Tate debate, but Sands is a fluid athlete (unlike Pat Watkins); he can flip his hips and has quicks... He's a very draft worthy prospect (3-5).

He may not have Mays' speed but speed doesn't equal success. This year Tate has been a total animal.

And Mays is off to a pretty bad start, although I haven't seen him play.

What would you like to bet?

And how can you mention Sands as a fluid athlete and not mention Tate? Have you seen him play? The guy moves like he's 190 pounds.

I wasn't giving a detailed breakdown of both players. I mentioned Sands' fluidness because there seemed to be some inference that he was tall and stiff.

Not looking for anything monetary, just a gentleman's bet (acknowledgement) that Tate won't go in the 1st or 2nd round, that's it.

    You wanna take that bet?

    Sure:cool:

I think as is right now he's a 2nd round pick. If he performs like I think he's capable of performing at the combine, forget it. Where do you see him going?

I'm predicting 3rd-4th round, at the very highest I think he could be taken at the very end of he 2nd round (last ten picks). But for the sake of this "bet," I'll say 3rd or 4th round. He stands to benefit from a very very poor safety class.

I like Sands personally, but can't pick between the two because I don't know anything about Tate.

You know the safety class is horrid when people are arguing about these two JAGS.

Please, it's obvious you know nothing about college football. Why are they jags exactly? Cause you've never heard of them?

You're talking to a guy who use to record 200 college games a year and burn them to DVD.

Plus, I just moved from Baltimore. I kind of know who Kenny Tate is.

NFL QB's and WR's will shred these guys to pieces.

Our S's already get shredded and they have NFL CB speed.

Neither one of these guys is anything remotely close to a ballhawk and I don't think the have the change of direction skills to be elite S's.

    Good SS's? Maybe.

    Cover FS............not even close.
