Hard to be negative on this one, if true. Would be solid hire.

Anybody who can turn Henry Melton into a player has my respect. Coming out of Texas, Melton had a rep of being "soft". Texas fans remember..

Armond Armstead would be cheaper than Melton and Kiffin coached him at USC. Armstead would be a great option at undertackle when Hatcher moves on. Plus Hatcher is on the wrong side of 30.

Guys who are 6'5 295 and rack up half a dozen sacks do not grow on trees. And if the Patriots and Colts are interested, it would be completely Jerry-atric to not kick the tires at the very least.

We'll let you have Joe D and give us Marinelli.

Sounds like a done deal if we want him and he want's to come.

I'm good with Marinelli. What's the story with Lovie Smith? I know he interviewed with SD and Phil. He'd be a great catch as asst DC or whatever. What's his speciality as a position coach? He played LB and S in college and has coached mostly LBs and some DB.

    Would love that.

But Lovie would only have came here as the defensive coordinator. May not have even been willing to do that. I think he was waiting for the all the head coaching spots to fill up, then will catch on somewhere as D-Coordinator.

Trade Joe D for Marinelli = UPGRADE.

We can find anyone to be our special teams coach and produce what I saw the last few years. Marinelli is an upgrade for our defense IMO.

Multiple sources have reported that Lovie will take a year off if he doesn't land a HC job. He's not going to interview for DC jobs, let alone to be a position coach.

Excellent, I mentioned this yesterday about adding him to our staff. When Kiffin eventually retires he's our new DC for sure.

Doesn't he know that absolutely none of our players could play in a 4-3 and Ware will be lucky to get 3 sacks next year miscast as a DE?

I hope it's true, because DL is really the one spot I don't see a lot of viable alternatives to fill from the Kiffin tree. I'm cool with keepting Eberflus or bringing in Joe Barry as LB coach. Also cool with keeping Henderson or bringing in Ron Meeks or Raheem Morris in the secondary.

It's amazing how some fans think our players can't adjust to a 4-3 when we actually played in a 4-3 at times last year.

I actually believe our defense will be better this year. No way does Ware only have 3 sacks. He can do that in his sleep.

Just wondering which of the three would be the best. I thought Henderson did a good job last year and someone said his interview went really well.
