I really think Joe Barry potentially coming to Dallas is going play a role in this. He's Marinelli's son-in-law, which means Marinelli and his wife would be in the same city as their daughter (and potentially grandkids??) if Dallas brought him over from San Diego. When you get that age (Marinelli is 64), family gets to be more important. Particularly if you've spent your life in a career that's kept you away from family.

Barry isn't rumored to J-Ville, but rather back to USC.

I've heard that too, but I don't know why he would go back to USC when he obviously wasn't that too thrilled with it in the first place leaving after 1 year. I also don't know why the USC fans would want to run Monte Kiffin out of town, but would take on his protege running the same exact system with open arms.

I think if anything he could to stay in San Diego, given that Pagano is the odds on favorite to stay there and run McCoy's defense. Chargers quietly had a good defense last year. Its weird though, because on the Chargers website they don't even have Barry's picture up with the rest of the staff.

    Nick Eatman ‏@nickeatman

Said goodbye to DL coach Brian baker in the hallway .. As expected he is not returning to staff next year, likely replaced by Rod Marinelli

He is? first time i've heard that. Can you give examples of when he's lost asst coaches in the past because of money? Or how much asst coaches in dallas make compared to other teams? I know jerry pays his Coordinators very well, almost tops in the league when it was wade and RHJ.

I see your bet and I'll raise you one(Brooks and Dunn, "Mama Don't Get Dressed Up For Nothing")...When Nutt was at Arkansas, two of his QB's were Casey and Nathan Dick, and they were recruiting a player with the last name of Beavers. I kid you not.

There was no Jacksonville interview, just a report that Jacksonville might consider him for their staff.
