Ex-Pro Baseball Pitcher Faces DUI Charges

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- A former Major League Baseball player was arrested in Seminole County, and accused of driving drunk with his young child in the car.

Curtis Leskanic, a former Red Sox pitcher, is facing charges after Altamonte Springs police said they found him driving under the influence with his 5-year-old daughter in his Ford F-250 truck.

“There obviously were some major concerns," said Officer Robert Pelton, of the Altamonte Springs Police Department. "We have an individual who is endangering those around him and a minor in the vehicle."

Police said Leskanic was stopped at a green light in his pickup on State Road 436 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard on Monday when an officer said it appeared he was sleeping. That officer had to knock on Leskanic's window twice to get his attention.
