    oh - oh !!

I confirmed for us here on GretaWire: the McCain campaign did NOT know about Gwen Ifill’s book (I think I told them when I made my efforts - emails about midnight - to find out!) I am stunned….the campaign (actually both) should have been told before the campaign agreed to have her moderate. It simply is not fair - in law, this would create a mistrial.

So they should refuse to do the debate until another moderator is named.

Whether that means the moderator recluses herself or the body that chooses the moderators finds a replacement.

They can't afford to do that politically...

Remember the hub-bub last week? The left spin machines will be in full force.

    "Scared"
    "Afraid"
    "Hiding"
"How dare they question Ms. Ifil."
    "This is a character lynching"

Sure they can, they are mavericks.

Either make a stink about it until they get someone else, or go in there and win the debates and say...we won even though they had a person clearly in the tank for Obama.

Could be a good thing for them.

    Last week was b.s, IMO.

This week, they'd have a legitimate claim.

Like Brain said, the lady should recuse herself or they assign another moderator. It can't be that hard to find another top flight journalist to serve as moderator.
