Jets gave former Eagles QB Michael Vick a one-year, $5 million deal, per source.

A lot of money for a backup but I'm sure they have plans for him being the starter

It’s official. We’ve signed QB Michael Vick. MORE: http://bit.ly/1hQ9CUV

Rumor has it Vick still wants to wear #7, but Geno Smith already occupies it. Drama already stirring in NY with this signing... more to come.

You do realize they finished with the same record as us last year, right? With Geno Smith as their QB. And ours as Romo.

    Let that sink in.

This is a very surprising signing. Do not understand it at all.

The Jets will continue to be just the "Jets". And Sanchez being released is another surprise. To me, the guy was never really given a chance, and then thrown out. He had a lot more talent than people give him credit for, but never given the opportunity playing on that mismanaged team. Top of the hill one day, and on the bottom another. I am sure some team will pick him up and use him with his abilities.

All very surprising. Me, just me, I would never want Vick on my team. Never. This just does not make any sense. And not just because I happen to love my dogs with his behavior. Who would want that cancer on their team??? Nuts, all of it.

Because football is nothing but quarterbacks.

Nothing to do with defense at all.

I think this is an excellent pick up. Vick is going to have success in NY IMO. He's got enough experience, they have a good running game and defense and it allows them to continue to develop Gene Smith. I really like this signing.
