He's a proven loser.
"It also could mean that the Princeton-educated Garretts sense that Jones is trying to provoke a showdown that will result in Jason Garrett leaving as the head coach without Jones flat-out firing him. "
I think Jerry learned a very tough lesson when he bought the team when he fired Landry. There was some very harsh backlash (Well deserved) on the way he did it. Jerry has said multiple times later that he did it wrong and would learn from that experience. So maybe that is why he is trying to do it a bit more subtle nowadays.
Just a guess though on my part.
My guess is the Peete firing and this, if it happens, is part of clearing room for another senior offensive coach-Sparano, maybe?-to split up responsibilities with Callahan. Who knows. I suspect it's not intended to immaculate Jason Garrett, though.
I am sure that Jason approved of this. We all know that nothing happens with out his approval.
Everyone knows Jerry Jones is passive aggressive when it comes to getting what he wants.
Apparently, we don't all know that.
Please quit Jason. Please!
Faithful in little, faithful in much. What evidence is there that the NFL equivalent to Dan Quaile in leadership should be given independence in picking his own staff? The samples of his skills that are exclusively his, without Jerry's or anyone else's interference, are game management and especially the offense. There are so many doubts and faults in Garrett's tenure; when his sole responsibility to produce and improve the offense and the team comes up short and somehow excused through deflection and diffusion of culpability, why would you then rely even more on his judgment with staff?
If anything, the only way Jerry has a chance to develop Jason into anything is to continue to surround him with effective and successful coaches until something catches and Jason can manage independently.
Are you sure you meant "immaculate"?
This is stupid.
Isn't Witten/Phillips/Hanna one of the strongest units on the team? Did Witten not just set a season record for tight ends?
Marty B is an embarrasment to football and humanity in general. Not John Garrett's fault he could not get that DNA mutation to care about his job.
I really don't know why Jeruh didn't just fire Jason if he wanted this much change.
John Garrett is a loser who would be selling insurance if it werent for his last name. Good riddence. Take Wade Wilson with you.
Because it keeps Jerry and the Cowboys in the news longer.
This would be a stupid move in my opinion. I'd say Garrett has done a pretty good job with development of Hanna throughout the season and should get better. Not understanding why Jerry would do this.
Jerry Jones should just name himself head coach and get it over with.
It wouldn't be without precedent in NFL history. Papa Bear Halas owned the Bears and coached them and came up with the revolutionary T formation.
Why the hell not
Consider him wasted,a no.2 te here wont get a lot of opportunities.
I thought I would never see the day that Jerry Jones would be mentioned in the same paragraph as George Halas.
