So far, for me, the most impressive athlete has been The TE Keller. He's just impressed me the entire day that they worked out.

    Who is your most impressive?

I don't know if this guy is the most impressive, but Matt Forte really opened my eyes today.

I watched his youtube highlights earlier in the week. He looked like he was pretty fast. His 4.46 today kinda confirmed it.

And there you have it. Forty times as a sole indicator of how good a player will be is folly. But you can use it as a tool to confirm what you know or suspect.

I was pretty impressed by Stewart, Mendenhall, and Limas Sweed. I wish Sweed had ran the pass catching drills though.

Jonathon Stewart by a mile for me. To run that fast at that weight and do that many reps of 225 is mind blowing to me.

    I've liked him all year.

If he's sitting there at 22, we pull the trigger! or should!

Andre Caldwell put up some ridiculous numbers. James Hardy was impressive for his size.

I don't know much about him, but Arman Shields has had a pretty good workout...

    40 time: 4.44
    Bench reps: 19
    Vertical: 37.5
    Broad Jump: 10'8"
    3 cone: 6.67
    20 yd shuttle: 3.96
60 yd shuttle: 10.87 (next best WR was at 11:22!)

    Arman Shields (WR)

    • Height:
      6'1"
    • Weight:188
    • College:
      Richmond
    • Conference: Colonial
    • Hometown: Washington, DC
    • High School: Gonzaga
    Overview
Standout lower level prospect who was invited to the NFL Combine despite missing all but the first game of the 2007 season due to a knee injury. Shields will have to prove his knee has healed to have any shot at getting drafted, of course, but when healthy he has shown the combination of size, strength, burst, straight-line speed and reliable hands to surprise at the next level - just as the last Spider to earn an invitation to the Combine (veteran linebacker Shawn Barber) has.

    High School
Earned All-Conference honors after leading his team to its first conference championship under head coach Kenny Lucas in 2002... Made 26 receptions for 350 yards and five touchdowns as a senior... Recorded 22 tackles, four pass break-ups and one interception for the Conference's top-ranked defense... Also helped lead the track team to a conference title.

    Analysis
Positives: Lanky frame with room for additional growth. ... Has the straight-line speed to challenge deep and is able to generate consistent separation from defenders due to his burst out of his breaks and effective upper body fakes. ... Reliable receiver who catches the ball with his hands. ... Hard-worker who takes his role as a downfield blocker seriously.

Negatives: Has to prove he has recovered from the knee injury that limited him to only one game in 2007 (Vanderbilt). ... Adequate physical tools in all areas, but may lack the special speed or burst to operate effectively against elite competition. ... Marginal quickness off the snap and can be re-routed with physical coverage. ... Struggled tracking passes over his shoulder.

Thats an impressive day or two for him. My only concern is that he is one of those workout warriors. What kind of career stats did he have? I can honestly say I've never heard of him.

Nelson didn't look that good to me in positional drills.

    Eddie Royal looked impressive, however...

    Eddie Royal:

According to numbers provided by the NFL, Royal finished first in the 10-yard split (1.48 seconds) and bench press (24 repetitions of 225 pounds). He finished fifth in the 20-yard split (2.55) and 40-yard dash (4.39). Michigan's State's Devin Thomas also finished first in two of the five categories in question (1.48 seconds over 10 yards and 2.52 seconds over 20 yards).

    Devin Thiomas

Michigan State receiver Devin Thomas helped himself by posting the best times over 10 yards (1.48) and 20 yards (2.52). His 40-yard time was a respectable 4.4 seconds

Yeah, he was amazing today. Mayock kept talking about Stewart only having 1 speed. If that speed is sub 4.5, at 235....GOODNESS.

Not to mention he had one of the top Verticals and Broadjumps among RBs.

Stewart looks like a great prospect. Hes thick all the way through, the two jumps give you an idea of his leg strength and his bench gives you idea of his upper body strength.

I would ABSOLUTELY love for him to fall to 22. Probably not happening though.

I watched him play once. He managed to have a good day against a stingy JMU defense.

His stats probably won't be that impressive though. Richmond has been a heavily run oriented team as of late.

Isn't Nelson basically being touted as another Wes Welker? A smaller, 3rd reciever, that you basically only play in the slot?
