Name some movie moments that had you in awe. May it be an intense emotion or unbelief.

Saving Pri. Ryan- When the General reads Lincoln's letter to the mother of fallen soldiers.

Inception- When the top doesn't stop spinning but gives a little flutter.

Sixth Sense- Bruce Willis is a ghost?

The ending of the movie Stand by Me when Phoenix disappears - errie foreshadow of his death. Plus the quote that goes something like "I never had friends like I did when I was 12. ***** does anybody?" So true. So so true.

There are lots of them for me. I love movies.

In the Green Mile where the guy sucks the cancer poison from the warden's wife is pretty awesome. I wish there was someone like that in real life. My family would be a lot happier.

Oh gosh... Several for me too...

"Planet of the Apes" when Charlton Heston finds the smashed Statue of Liberty. I was young when I first saw it, and even at that age understood the pain of seeing it.

"Die Hard" at the end of the movie when Bruce Willis finally meets the cop he had been communicating with for most of the movie, and the cop subsequently shoots the last of the terroists/theives.

When Morgan Freeman and Timothy Robbins meet up at the beach at the end of "Shawshank Redemption".

The pair of Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Schieder paddling back in towards land after Schieder kills "Bruce the shark".

When "Chief" puts Jack Nicholson out of his misery, pulls the sink out of the floor, tosses it through the security window and runs for freedom in "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest".

James Caan outlasting everyone else on the track, picking up the metal ball, doing a victory lap and making the winning score in the original "Roller Ball."

To me one of the great joys in life is simply flipping through the channels without an clear destination in mind and coming across a terrific movie.

Totally neglected that one. One of , if not the, greatest movies of all time.

I wonder how many of us knew, even before we ever visited IMDb, that "Shawshank" was perhaps the greatest movie– ever.

I like "The Godfather"... I think it's a terrific movie. But the equal of "Shawshank"? No.

Wiki says 1990, and became an Amazon subsidy in 1998.

That was about the time (1998) when I came across the site.
