IRVING — The Dallas Cowboys have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention and are guaranteed their first losing season since 2004, but that doesn't mean the club will use its final three games to evaluate youngsters.

Interim coach Jason Garrett made it clear Monday he's in agreement with owner Jerry Jones that winning games will remain the team's top priority.

That means players such as quarterback Stephen McGee and rookie safety Barry Church won't start unless injuries push them to the top of the depth chart.

“Our approach is the same,” Garrett said. “The goal each week is to try to win games. That's what we're going to try to do. We're going to try to put our best football forward.”
