There is a growing sentiment among some of our NFL sources that one or two of the high-profile quarterback prospects could be in store for a draft-day free fall. The two quarterbacks are Louisville's Teddy Bridgewater and Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel.

Late in the 2013 season, we wrote that teams weren't grading Bridgewater like the top quarterback prospects of past years. Before the Combine, we wrote that two teams picking in the top five had Blake Bortles as their top-ranked quarterback. Teams are lukewarm on Bridgewater, as they have concerns about his physical skill set and build. A few sources said they wouldn't be surprised if Bridgewater fell to the second round.

We've also learned that one team picking in the top 10 has Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron rated ahead of Bridgewater.

A slide for Bridgewater seems more likely than Manziel. Manziel helped himself with his Pro Day performance, but there are still concerns about him off the field and how much of his game is going to translate in the NFL. Teams wonder if he will be able to develop his pocket passing. One source who attended his Pro Day said that he looked good, though he threw side-armed at times, and they wish he would have done more work out of the pocket. Teams feel that they would have to change their scheme to a shotgun-based offense for Manziel.

While some believe that Manziel could be in store for a draft-day slide, they think it is less likely for him, as it only takes one quarterback needy team to fall in love with his playmaking ability and "it factor."

There is not even a doubt in my mind thst if JFB is there at 16 he will be the pick. There is also not a doubt in my mind that if Teddy B is there he should be the pick.

If Manziel and Bridgewater are there at 16, I am a happy camper. Either one is fine with me.

Manziel and Donald are the only players I'm interested in during the first 22 picks, maybe 31 picks

not a great fan of Manziel but anyone not seeing that he really impressed during his Pro Day is someone not worth listening to on anything.

Man I have to say Manziel would be tempting at #16, but I just don't know if his ability translates yet into the NFL. Too big a risk that high up for me.

I would rather Brett Smith or Aaron Murray in the middle rounds.

I would hate to see JFB land with the iggles. Seems like he is tailor-made for that offense.

I don't think he'll slide to the Eagles pick and I doubt they'd trade up for him too. I would hate it too if it happened!

As long as we don't have to trade picks to move up.

I'd be perfectly happy with either Teddy or Manziel.

    Bridgewater especially.

I think if Manziel is gone and Teddy is still there, we trade down to a QB needy team (ie, Cleveland). However, if Teddy is gone and Manziel is there, or both are there, absolutely 100% sure we'd draft Manziel.

Jerry is too good of a businessman to pass that opportunity up.

Cant recall the source, I do not think Aaron Murray is high on Cowboys draftboard. I think he would be a solid pick later in the draft. However, Brett Smith and David Fales are solid considerations in my options.

I keep reading, wow, Aaron Murray has four years of tape for scouts to see. If scouts have four years of tape for a quarterback at a major SEC university and he's not in the first round, what does that tell you?

I don't know why any Cowboys fan would think that. Why would Jerry, who is all in with Romo, use his first round pick on a QB? He lacked the FA funds to improve the team, we got worse there, and now he's going to use his biggest resource of the offseason on another QB? I would be shocked if he did.

Manziel and the Cowboys do seem like a match but the timing just isn't right.

BTW, there is a 0% chance Teddy Bridgewater falls to the 2nd round unless he has a serious off the field incident before the draft. That is nonsense.

34 Y/O QBs with back issues are not something I want to stake the future on (stupid contract aside). If a team feels a franchise QB is there, they should draft them because they arent always there when you need them. This team is not winning this year anyway IMO. Time to look to the future.
