It was quite good.
I admit that I was impressed.
Is that the Batman soundtrack in the background?
Do not know ..... I turned it off before that grinning corpse Biden came out there.
Same old democratic jargon and cliches, just polished up to a brand new shine.
What engaged you about the speech, Zrin?
Confession: I'm going to have to watch the speech later; I didn't see it live because I was watching the Cowboy game. Priorities, y'know.
He showed more passion in this speech than I have seen in the past from him .... he did not seem to be reading off a teleprompter.
He seemed genuine about his beliefs ....... seemed much more pro America than in the past.
Obviously he is a wonderful speaker when he is not speaking off the cuff.
Basically he just came across as a man who truly wants to help the U.S. people.
He still seems to have no clue how he will accomplish any of it. And he reconfirmed his bleeding heart socialist plans.
But all in all I think he is a good man with very dangerous ideas on how "his America" needs to be.
Who are you, and what have you done with Zrin?
I still think he is a bleeding heart socialist ...... just seemed like a sincere one.
Obviously it was all just him being well coached for this moment.
I am just acknowledging that he took advantage of it and scored.
If McCain underestimates this guy ...... he could easily lose.
Thank you, Zrin.
You've given me something to consider as I watch it.
Very well done. I'm sure the McCain camp is glad they can announce the VP tomorrow and steal some thunder and get a bump of their own.
Yea ..... felt kinda bad .... but I could no longer stomach watching Bartell throw the ball into the dirt 2 yards in front of young receivers trying to make a squad.
If McCain can add an equal polish to the t*** to which Bush & Co have reduced the Republican Party - McCain will go go down as one of the greatest campaigners the US has ever seen.
But I'm not betting on that happening.
Some seem to think that it fell kinda flat. What did he say that we haven’t heard from a hundred different Democrats a hundred different times?
Nothing really ...... was all style and flair ..... but that has won them the office before.
Matter fact, that is always what wins them the office.
I will go ahead and say it ...... it was even more charming of a speech than anything Bill ever did.
Which is dangerous.
The Libs in the audience looked like cult followers ...... its kinda scary.
It will only be perceived in that way by those that already sport the McCain blinders.
thats an ironic statement.
In my experience, people who attend any political convention (Republican or Democrat) have a cultish appearance.
Honestly, I'm baffled by the all the crying and excessive displays of emotions at these functions. No matter who's delivering the speech, conventions are solely about salesmanship with very little substance. I watch them solely for purposes of their historical and rhetorical significance.
This was a little creepier than usual ..... after you watch it tell me what you think.
It literally reminded me of how the Manson family looked ..... they were swaying and crying with a crazed smile on their face.
I have worked security in Republican and Democrat rallies before ...... they always seemed to be like sports fans supporting their "team".
That looked different.
With your experience, I'll definitely take your word for it.
McCain and his backers refuse to acknowledge the many failures of Bush/Cheney - instead they are anxious to lace themselves to those same idiotic policies.
And you laugh at the Dems? Therein lies the true irony.
