Very sad... one of the coolest actors of the 80s.
Any other sources. Kind to have to question it when it comes from the National Enquirer.
Hope it's not true.
That's one of the worst forms of cancer. My wife's father had it and he went from a healthy man to almost nothing before he passed away.
Unfortunately on something like this they probably got it right for once. So sad, prays for them all. I enjoyed his work.
Classic SNL video of Swayze and Chris Farley having a Chippendales dance-off.
Sam Elliot needs to get to a doctor quick ..... half the cast of Roadhouse already.
Report: Patrick Swayze Diagnosed With Pancreatic Cancer, Has Five Weeks to Live
Wednesday, March 05, 2008
Patrick Swayze and his wife Lisa Niemi.
"Dirty Dancing" star Patrick Swayze was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs and he has five weeks left to live, according to the National Enquirer.
For the past month, Patrick, 55, has been traveling to Stanford University's prestigious cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy, but his doctors no longer are optimistic that the treatments will be successful, the Enquirer says.
FOXNews.com's calls to Swayze's reps were not immediately returned. But a "very good source" reportedly told blogger Perez Hilton that Swayze has seemed fine lately.
"Patrick has been at rehearsals for a new cheerleading movie at Century City studio frequently lately, and he definitely does not look like he has 5 more weeks of life left…i'm not sure of his medical condition(s), but if he is gravely ill, he is hiding it very well," the source wrote.
According to the Enquirer, Patrick and his wife, Lisa Niemi — who both have pilot's licenses — have been flying their private Beechcraft plane into Palo Alto's airport, minutes from the Stanford Cancer Center, where the actor reportedly has received outpatient treatment.
He received three doses of chemotherapy and the tumor shrank, but less than his doctors had hoped for — and Patrick was told he should prepare for the worst, the Enquirer reports.
"He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short — they held out little hope for a cure," an insider reportedly said.

The "Ghost" actor has lost more than 20 pounds in the past few weeks and is restricted to a liquid diet because he has trouble keeping down solid food, the insider reportedly
That is kind of odd. No not a conspiracy or anything but it is odd that Healy goes and now Swayze is not doing well.
I'll never forget the snot bubble scene from red dawn.
Hate to hear that. My favorite movie he was in is "The Outsiders." I've read that book 12 times.
According to KTCK, his publicist has now confirmed the rumor to be true...
I loved The Outsiders as well. Did you know that SE Hinton was in high school when she wrote it?
What a bummer. Like most guys I am a sucker for roadhouse.
I loved red dawn as a kid and still do and another movie that is not very highly acclaimed that he is in Youngblood. Great hockey movie. I always have loved that movie.
Pancreatic cancer is a tough diagnosis. MY father has prostate cancer right now and it is isolated but our biggest fear was that it had spread to that area in some way.
It usually happens in 3's......
Not so fast. Swayze's physician denies the story and says he is responding well to the treatment so far.
Of course, this article also says he is the star of "Ghosts". I didn't realize they made a sequel to "Ghost".
I really hate to hear that. He is such a good actor.
I'm a huge fan of Roadhouse. It's a simple yet classic film. I think he was one of the most underrated and underappreciated actors of the last 30 years. He was a very good actor
Patrick Swayze - RIP
A great actor in his own right
Being a movie star, I'm sure by now he has one of those amazing Tempurpedic mattresses.
Geez, he ain't dead yet!
BTW, I heard today that the avg. life expectancy after diagnosis of this is 5-6 months.
