As the Eagles’ season goes from bad to worse, they’ve now lost one of their top offensive playmakers.

DeSean Jackson, the wide receiver who guaranteed a Super Bowl when he signed a new five-year contract in March, will miss the rest of this season with fractured ribs, coach Andy Reid announced today. Jackson leads the team with 45 catches for 700 yards, so his loss will be yet another blow to an offense that continues to struggle.

Reid said Jackson’s injury will take about six weeks to heal and shouldn’t affect him during the offseason. (Reid, of course, will have no role in anything Jackson does during the offseason, as Reid is sure to be fired when this season ends.)

Yep. I am sure his backup will burn us for 3 touchdowns and 300+ yards.

Fractured and broken are almost the same when it comes to ribs.

    Hurts to breathe at times.

Better safe than sorry for him.

One thing you have to say though, as bad as our season has been - and it's been bad - the Eagles' season has been even worse.

    Much worse.

That whole thing is getting blown up in about two months.

Bottom line is, we both stink, and we both can't get out of our own way.

We have no room to point and laugh at anybody, or to call them worse.

Didn't mean to come across as 'pointing and laughing', I try not to be that way if I can help it.

Never like to take pleasure in the woes of others.

I honestly feel somewhat bad for them.

I saw Reid last night before the game and he looked like a man headed for the gallows.

We have our issues to be sure, but that team looks like they have just up and quit.

I don't see that same quit from our team.

Dude *** are you talking about? They've lost 7 straight and we're in the mix of a playoff berth. Playing well or not, we have a shot. Oh yea, they're definitely worse. You sound ridiculous!!!

    :lmao2:

What's funny about that, is I saw the same look on his face last night during the game.

I just wish they decided to behave this way when we were having a good season. If we some how turn it around next year, so will they.

And you sound like a complete Homer.

I'm a Homer at times as well, but you sir, take it to another level. If you believe we are so much better than the eagles outside of our record...then there is no help for you, I'm sorry

Our team is still in the hunt, I'm pulling for them to do well so I'm a HOMER? Wow!!! Yea I suppose I am a HOMER. I don't give up until its over, its not over. I'm a HOMER and you're a QUITTER, give me HOMER any day of the week.

True, but I'm totally :laugh2: at DeSean Jackson. He's a loud-mouth little punk.

Just stop....seriously, save yourself any further embarrassment

You have been this way at all times, you are blind. Even when Romo went down, you still thought we had a chance

We have to much going against us. A play caller who is acting as a saboteur, injuries at almost every Key Position, and now a record that is hard to overcome

You mean Reid doesn't have a "built in excuse" to keep his job with all these injuries?

It really hurts you so much that not everyone gives up when you do? Why is it so important to you? I don't care if you given up. I don't care if some still think we're going to the Super Bowl. I may disagree with them, but I don't feel the need to try to intimidate them into not having their own opinions.

A fracture and a break are always the same thing, no matter what part of the body it is on.
