Quick look at Washburn offensive line anchor Brian Folkerts, who is on the radar of pro scouts.

A mountain of a man at 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds, Folkerts has ascended to the mountain top to anchor the offensive line for the No. 15 Ichabods (1-0), who play their MIAA and home opener against Lincoln (1-0) at 6 p.m. Thursday at Yager Stadium.

"Brian came in as a freshman and it didn't take long before he was starting," WU coach Craig Schurig said. "His intensity, athletic ability and toughness is everything you want in an offensive lineman, and he's also very smart."

Chuckle... in the NFL, 6-4, 310 is not a "mountain of a man"... the author worked too hard hyping his subject...

On one level, I understand such exaggerations... the home town paper naturally wants to pump up their kids...
