I'm not buying the Redskins reasoning for shutting down RGIII. I'll guarantee you the Redskins management took one look at our defense and decided that they could parlay the pick of backup quarterback Kirk Cousins into a first round pick. What better opportunity to showcase him than with starts against three of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. Atlanta, Dallas and NY Giants. We are giving up an average passer rating of 95.1. If playing against us doesn't net them a first round pick from Cousins nothing will.

That's quite possible. They gave up a VERY high 1st rounder this year to get RG3. They need pieces to put around him. It makes sense they're going to try and get Cousins to look like a stud so they can hopefully get something from someone for him.

idk remember how good Matt Flynn looked packing up for the packers and now he is back backing up Rodgers. Remember McNabb, Kolb, and etc. Idk if teams want to be that guy again lol

If cousins plays well enough to increase his value it may be RG3 that ends up on the block.

There are people that think Cousins is the better QB.

    Not going to happen.

They gave up way to much to get him. RG3 is the guy they'll go with.

If this defense is playing against the Redskins like they have been playing, I think the Redskins might get 2 1st rounders for him!

That would be a smart move, though I'd wonder why Shanahan would care.

Watch their plan fail. I don't see where Cousins makes this team better. From the games I've seen the players gave up. That takeaway to end the game vs NY was unbelievable.

in my thinking, Shany is angry at Little Danny and at RGIII. Shany has full control of personnel decisions as called for in his contract (I believe). Shany is sitting RGIII because both dislike each other. And Shany is getting ready to walk. Those reasons and not Cousins trade value (to my feeble mind) are why Cousins is starting.

If cousins plays well enough to make the skids fans dream come true of having other teams offer high draft pick.

Why would Washington want to get rid of him?

He'd have done a good enough job making chicken salad out of chicken poop that it'd start an instant quarterback controversy.

And shanahan isn't getting fired this off season and the benching of RGKNEE proves it IMO.

    1. JMO but it's clear the Redskirts will trade Cousins this off season.

    2. I don't care of believe what any of the Redstinks talking heads has to say.

    3. Watching the meltdown and misery in DC makes me feel better about our Cowboys.

I also think this is Cousins audition to be traded. It might be coupled with Shanahan's angst towards a few too but he could potentially get the Redskins an early draft pick that was lost on RGKnee. Highly doubtful a late 1st rounder but maybe a 2nd.

    I am one of them

RG3-10 has a larger skill set, but Cousins is more of a traditional QB...a running QB like Griffin is ALWAYS going to get hurt if they are expected to run as much....

that team imploding couldn't happen quickly enough for me...I can't stand the redskins...

A bit exaggerated....Cousins could have three 300 yard games to end the year and still no one would give a first round pick for him.

Washington is weak in so many areas and need players as badly as we do. They'd be happy to get a 2nd or 3rd for him.

Regardless of circumstances in DC, Cousins is the better QB. He has a bright future ahead of him. I would give my left arm to have him in Big D to take over when Romo hangs it up.

Shanny ain't walking cause he's guaranteed seven million dollars if he's fired or coaches. He walks, he ain't getting a penny.

Shanny doesn't care for a meddling owner in DC and is showing it by shutting down a QB so he can be healthy in the offseason? For who? The next coaching regime? He and his son are walking this year.

    Give me Wisenhunt/Horton or Hamilton/Haslett. And I won't complain for 3+ years.
