So very sad to hear this.Robert Newhouse was a true team player, just a high character guy who did whatever those Cowboys teams asked of him.He was a solid runner and excellent blocker, and late in his career without complaining he played on special teams, covering kicks and punts.RIP "House",it was a pleasure watching you play.

Loved the Man and the Football Player, sad day but the world is a better place because he was here ... you can't say that about everyone. hopefully we just move on to another life experience...whatever happens it's coming fast!

See you on the other side Robert Newhouse, thanks for the memories.

He became good friends with my late grandfather who was a maintenance manager in Texas Stadium in the 80s. Newsome used to work in the sales staff in the late 80s/early 90s and would hook up my dad and uncles with tix all the time. He was a very down to earth, good person, wish I could have met him.

Maybe best remembered as the first running back to throw a touchdown in Super Bowl history. (vs Broncos in 1977 to Golden Richards)

We are losing so many lately from our historic franchise. Newhouse had those big old thighs built for churning up yards the hard way. That TD he threw against the Broncos in the SB is still a highlight of that game. My sentiments are with his family. Mr. Newhouse gets to be with Coach now and a front row seat is reserved just for him. Gone too soon!

If we need a tough yard we'll still give you a holler. In the meantime get some rest.

Sad, Sad day...Newhouse was the fireplug, just stuck his nose into the line and kept churning forward. Everything I have ever read about him was nothing but good things. Just a shame such a quality human being is gone so soon. I hope the Cowboys honor him with a 44 on their helmets this year.

Yeah that't the first thing that comes to mind for me when thinking of him. He was before my time but looking at those Super Bowl highlights I knew how important he was to those teams of the 70s. RIP Robert.
