All great points. They have been asking Romo to be Brady/Manning for too long and it simply does not work. Tony Romo would be fine if they ever decided to make a running game and an offensive line a priority. Romo has only played with one 1,000 yard rusher in his career (Julius). Great that it works for Brady, Rogers and Brees, but Dallas will never reach the Superbowl like that and Romo will end up as nothing more than this generations' Dan Fouts (who had a HOF level beard).

Tony is nowhere near the QB Rodgers is...& his turnovers kill the Cowboys every year.

all those stats are great, but guess what...he could finish first in all of those categories next season but he'd still not be trusted once the playoffs started. i honestly could careless about any of romo's regular season stats for the rest of his career in dallas.

Please! Plenty on this message speaks nothing but negativity about our players and coaches, especially about Romo.

Right or not stop acting like there is only a few of you.

Of course he is top 10 in the league currently.
    No brainer there.

Is that good enough though? That is the question.

You trade Romo and we quickly become like Cleveland or Miami... a team perpetually in despair because of their lack of a QB.

NY Jets? Buffalo Bills? Jaguars? Minnesota? Tennessee? Oakland?

Franchise QBs just grow on trees...

With the offensive line we have, Orton could hardly do worse. We have to go thru some lean years for all the bad drafting we have done. Time to pay the piper for Jerry's folly.

It will take more than two years. As much as Romo has blown some do or die games he still gives Dallas a shot. He just needs to learn to throw the ball away or take a sack instead of forcing the issue. I don't trust JG and his staff to have the capability to mold a young QB out of the draft so if Dallas wants to go in that direction in the near future a change at HC will have to be made. There are no top QB prospects in this years draft and there is a high number of teams ahead of you to pick that need a QB. I would imagine those bottom tier teams will still be QB shopping for the 2014 draft as well.

He doesn't lack guts he lacks what it takes between the ears in big games. Romo has a monkey the size of King Kong on his back and it continues to grow. Do or die moments are too big for him and his 12 turnovers in 7 win or stay home games point to that. It's not only the amount of turnovers that are a concern it's when some of them have occurred that's been so troubling.

It's a pattern we've seen with Romo over his 7 years as the starter and it's not going to change at this stage in his career. Romo is who he is a very good regular season QB who can't get it done in the games that matter most. What we've seen him do in week 3 or 5 or week 9 of the regular season he simply can't do in week 17 or in the playoffs when the Cowboys season is on the line.

This makes a lot more sense than what you've been saying about Romo for the last few years, pointing to "his" losing record since 2010, and saying he wasn't even on the tier below "elite."

What impressed you about another 8-8 season?

LOL. He isn't a franchise QB.

Yet all of his numbers suggest that he is.

It's hard to play well when you have no running game, and your defense sucks, but by all means, push us into Miami/Cleveland mode... you'll love it.

Numbers suggest Matthew Stafford is as well. Franchise QBs lead their teams into the playoffs year in and year out and sometimes deep into the playoffs and Super Bowl. There are a handful of franchise Qb's and Romo isn't on that list. Aaron Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Brady, Manning all play with little to no running game as well and subpar defenses and seem to manage to get in the playoffs.

Right, being the 22nd rated passer in the league screams "franchise QB."

Do people really think romo doesn't work hard or try to win these games?

It's easy to blame the QB. Even when everything else is gone to crap, the QB is always an easy target.

We couldn't run the ball, and we couldn't stop the run... nor could we stop the short/intermediate pass... that's not conducive to winning football games.

Romo is a stat machine only.... He chokes in big games because he can't really handle pressure. Hit him a couple of times and he folds up like a cheap suit. After all his failures in big games, he's now gunshy and will likely never be a playoff QB again. Time to move on, trade him, and look for our next JJ savior.
