Well Romo is too old to accomplish that so I guess that's it, he will never be on Aikman's level
If he bring us one ring, he will be at or above Troy's level.
romos mobility nukes aikman. this isnt' even debatable.
romo has done more with less of a line than aikman did. aikman did great and was a perfect fit for the offense.
oddly enough, that's a HUGE key in success. all the pieces fitting.
whining one piece doesn't look like another is just butt-nugget stupid.
Aikman never even tried to run instead he would just curl up on the ground and say......."don't hit me"
a ring is a team victory.
to pin it on 1 person is just agenda and frankly, i'm tired of it. you want a single place of blame cause you can't think beyond 123, go ahead. but don't dare to tell me, or others, we can't chime in with "potshots" cause you can't handle them.
i say it again, this entire argument is just stupid.
let the stupid carry on.
they are very different qb's - if you compare the 2 w/o recognizing that, you're just an idiot.
a little? you went blog**** stupid dude.
yes aikman needed two offensive lines since he had no mobility
most of what aikman did was timing. in 3 seconds this player is here.
he had the players to do that. we don't. romo has to improvise for many reasons.
both are damn good qb's. both need to be put in the best chance to win. i don't feel we've used romo to his strengths. we tried to make him an aikman.
never will be.
What current QB would you consider to be the most comparable to Aikman?
I'd have to think about that. There's more to consider than agenda driven commentary but good question.
Aikman was a pretty good runner when he first entered the league. He rushed for 302 yards his rookie year which was second on the team behind Paul Palmers 446 yards. During a preseason game in 1990 vs the Chargers he had a 49 yard run. His back issues slowed him down a lot. Check some highlights of him when he was running the wishbone at OU before transferring to UCLA and you'll see he could run back then.
Not sure anyone can come up with a real good answer for that one because none of the current QB's really compare to him but coming out of college some compared him to Terry Bradshaw.
To compare is to understand styles, not results. That's why I wanna think about it.
There's really not a current QB that when you watch them play Aikman comes to mind. The closest one I could think of would probably be Sam Bradford as far as his style.
Oh. You're back again to waste life I see.
Perhaps Warner(retired too I know)? Carson Palmer has never really had the benefit of a strong line?
I was in my early teens when Aikman was winning it all so some of these may be poor guesses.
Just for the record, your opinion means dirt to me. Glad we came to that understanding. I'm sure it's mutual. Love you too snookums.
I not a hippy or anything but I cant believe all the trash talking that goes on among fans of the same team. lol
Great. I wasn't looking for the respect of an idiot.
