McGee rallies Cowboys in rousing return
    By Tom Orsborn

ARLINGTON — Football returned to Cowboys Stadium on Thursday night.

And even though the stakes weren't anywhere near as high as when Green Bay and Pittsburgh squared off in the Super Bowl six months ago, the preseason opener between Dallas and Denver provided plenty of thrills.

Rookie Dwayne Harris caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Texas A&M alum Stephen McGee on fourth down with 15 seconds left, and McGee passed to Martin Rucker for the 2-point conversion to lift the Cowboys to a 24-23 win.

The winning drive covered 65 yards and lasted 12 plays.

"Stephen did a nice job," Dallas coach Jason Garrett said. "Obviously, at the end of the game, to string some positive plays together, making some good throws, making some good decisions, then allowing us to score that last touchdown...Pretty darn good by him."

Harris, a sixth-round receiver from East Carolina, also scored on a 76-yard catch-and-run early in the fourth and finished with 127 yards on five catches. Another rookie wideout, undrafted Raymond Radway from Abilene Christian, caught a 6-yard TD pass in the third quarter from McGee, who was 14 of 24 for 208 yards with three TDs and an interception.
