    Pent-up passion comes out in first practices.

    A sense of urgency permeated the Alamodome on Thursday.

    From players putting serious effort into the morning walkthrough that opened the Dallas Cowboys' training camp, to fans sprinting at the start of the afternoon practice to claim prime autograph-hunting seats, it was obvious everybody was happy to have the lockout finally behind them.

    “Daddy had to go back and earn some biscuits, pay some bills,” linebacker Bradie James said. “It was time for us.”

    Whether inspired by coach Jason Garrett's pre-walkthrough address about the importance of making the most of their careers, or simply cognizant of the need to make up for lost time, the players had plenty of zip.

    So much so, the coaches had to pull in the reins during the walkthrough.

    “We had to kind of throttle back as players,” quarterback Tony Romo said. “Our coaches told us to slow down. The guys were ready to go.”
