IRVING — Monte Kiffin can confound at times with his raspy-voiced, hazy answers to questions about his defense.

Take, for instance, the 73-year-old coordinator's attempt after the Cowboys' 17-3 win over the Eagles to explain how the players finally seem at ease with his 4-3 scheme.

“When you become a good defense, you play fast, and you know what you are doing,” Kiffin said. “You see a little, you see a lot. You see a lot, you see nothing.

“Well, we were seeing a lot earlier this year. We were seeing a lot, but we weren't seeing anything. Just see a little bit, read your keys, and you have a chance to see better.”

Translation: Players are at their best when they narrow their focus and concentrate solely on executing their individual assignments, something Dallas has been doing well lately.

oh Monte, you impress me so. LOL, can't help but giggle reading this after yesterday's debacle. Just goes to show you, when the manure hits the oscillator, everyone scatters and no one wants to accept credit. Even after the Denver fiasco, Monte ran out as well.
