People seem more intent on inventing more complex ways to undermine their fellow man, than on anything else.

There are days when I read things that make me almost regret having procreated...

Or don't. Someone might cop that image and use it against you.

And to add to this, anyone thinking crime s a result of lack of education or some sort of poverty has to remember, the worse things ever concocted, whether it be nuclear weaponry or codes to break down security barriers, were invented by the minds of highly intelligent and educated men. I'd rather take my chances against troglodyte with a club.

Well good. Maybe if I give them and extra 30 minutes or so, they can hack into my cerebral cortex, following the engram to where I stored the memories of what the hell I did with all those keys I've lost over the years.

Call me when they invent a 100% foolproof lie detector which has been certified by the criminal justice system.

So they only see a signal when the person sees the meaningful number?

Sounds like you would have to show literally millions of numbers before you get anything because it's still a trial and error. Really misleading article title if you ask me.

Doesn't seem all that different from a lie detector.

That's true, it's just way more intrusive because it can find out way more than if you're just lying.

    Correct me if I'm wrong...

But the way I understand it, when they show an image, say of a pin/account number, there's a signal from the brain. That would mean you'd have to show the person the proper number to get a result, rendering it all but useless because of how improbable that is.

That's the way I understood it. So it's even less useful than a lie detector (though perhaps more accurate?).

I think you have to take into consideration the speed at which you can show people things in order to get the response you desire. Is it something that can be flashed on a screen for 2 seconds then move on. Also, there are other things to find out with fewer variables.

For a 5 digit pin number you will only need to flash numbers 55 times by the way.
