Per Field Yates of ESPN, Sean Lee was put on IR as the corresponding move with the McClain trade. Lee will now be out for all of 2014.

no big loss per say, while he could have been a great player, does us no good if hes on the sideline. It hurts but its a team sport and if we can get a guy to at least put up half the work but stay on the field, we have to do it.

It was only a matter of time before they made the move. No surprise.

Glad they did this and did not let it drag out. Been through the Terry Glenn thing before, no reason to do it again no matter how good the player is.

Lol not for the thinking of people on this forum. I was told i didnt know what i was talking about because sean lee was going to make a comeback and play at the end of the yr because his acl injury was 3 months before the season started.

That's an unrealistic time frame for him to be back and effective.

Exactly, but because Adrian Peterson did it, i guess people expect everybody to do it.

Guess that leaves just one more roster spot yet to be opened- when Dallas puts Kyle Orton on the reserve/retired list in the coming weeks.

This doesn't impact the 2014 Dallas Cowboys in any way.

They must have moved up the IR date. It use to be teams had to wait until the cut down to 75 or waive injured.

Didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out he would go to IR. And sooner than later.

It's time to write him off. Unfortunately, he just can't stay healthy, and can't be depended on.

Why rush him back yeah look at that linebacker from the chargers, AD but look at rgknee I mean if we rush him he can hurt it or he can start getting swelling, a whole year of rehab should do him well, looking forward for his rage on the sidelines that's for sure.

I think if they are put on the IR list now, they must waive them once they are healthy if minor injuries. Not sure though. Seems they change this stuff, cut off dates over the past few years.
And 5 different types of lists it seems.

Ok, from what little I read without spending too much time on it. Limited time right now.
Right now, you can place a player on IR if it's a major injury. Meaning 6 weeks or longer to recover.
But if less than 6 weeks, it's considered a minor injury, so you either keep them on the roster, or they go on the waive / injured list. Meaning another team can claim them. If they clear waivers, then a ream can put them on the regular IR or come to an injury settlement and release them, or put them back on the roster.
