On espn radio they said sensabaugh does not fit this new system at all and will be gone . Anyone know the cap implications ? ( thank goodness I hated sensabaugh )

I wouldn't mind Sensy being cut but he is better than our backups and under contract. Who is going to take his place?

I'd love to hear their reasoning because he is the best safety we have. We'd ignore the vacant safety spot next to him just to replace him?

Not sure why he wouldn't fit the system. He has great speed and range. Might not have the football IQ, though.

Given his salary is guaranteed I find that doubtful. Trades are rare in the nfl but that would be the best option.

Pure speculation but they are probably right. The kid (Moore) might be a better safety in a Kiffin scheme than Sensy.

I'm glad. Ever since that Vikings playoff game I wanted him gone

lol, I am not a fan of Sensabaugh in any system, but who are these nemrods on the radio just throwing stuff out there?? Even if we had kept the same system, I am sure they would have looked at cutting Sensabaugh. We'll see if it actually happens

Just to follow up on this..from Lacewell..who consults Jerry.

"When the corners do bail into zone coverage, their mission is to take away the outs and comebacks. That puts pressure on the safeties to cover the post.

    That could be a problem.

“The one position I don’t have clear in my head for them is the g--damn safety,” Lacewell said. “I don’t know who it is. I don’t know who the hell it is.”

Asked about Barry Church as a strong safety, Lacewell brightened up a bit: “He’s kind of a Kiffin guy.”

Nobody is saying Church is the next John Lynch, but he is tough and smart, two of the ex-Bucs great’s best attributes. However, Church is also recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, so the Cowboys would be taking a big risk by counting on him.

Asked about Gerald Sensabaugh, Lacewell was lukewarm.

“I’d say they’re more in hunt of two safeties than any other position,” Lacewell said.

If the Cowboys' front office agrees with Lacewell, Texas' Kenny Vaccaro could be a fit in the first round."

I have a feeling this defense is about to get gutted.

Sensabaugh, Ratliff, Spears, Coleman, Hatcher... Please exit stage left.

I'm worried about us relying too much on Barry Church.

Spears is the only sure thing out of that list... Hatcher/Ratliff/Coleman aren't going anywhere in my opinion

Why Hatcher? He's a pretty dang good player plus he's cheap.

I don't see why. He has played well for us, made some game changing plays last year, I think you'd be surprised how much better he'd look if he had Church by him all year instead of the black hole of suck Danny McCray.

Me too, he probably still sees Sidney Rice in his nightmares.

Gerald is not a very physical safety so I'd guess he's out the door...

They can not release all those guys it would cripple the team financially and we be lucky to get bargin basement guys signed in fact the three players everyone wants run out of town only one can go Sensabaugh, Ratliff or Free they cost way to much against the cap if you cut them. Only one can be prorated over two years. You guys are just going have to live with one of those guys not coming back hell they maybe over priced backups but that is the way it is.

Spears and Coleman are gone for sure and Hatcher will be on the team and have a battle in camp because his salary is small.
