The have a lot of extra picks as bait. I heard the announcers last night say that there are tons of first round talent in the second.

They really don't have a lot of extra picks. All their extra picks are in the 7th round and those are basically useless and some of them are comp picks anyway which can't be traded, I believe.

they have 3 7th's they can trade, those aren't going to do much. I'm hoping we can trade down and add a 3rd.

Difficult question. Their top targets are probably gone by #47, but mid round picks in this draft are really valuable. I wouldn't give up more than a 5th or a 2015 4th.

I really think there will be excellent talent at #47 but it might not match up with their needs.

If they can't trade down, I think we're going to see a "reach" in the 2nd round for a DL. I'm guessing we will have a couple of offensive positions rated higher, but won't go that route.

I want 3 picks in the top 100 players, so it can't hit that. I also want at least 2-3 actually good depth or starters from the later rounds. I want players out of this draft to be on the roster for a minimum of 3-5 years.

So if trading doesn't hurt that, then ok fine.

Just to put numbers on this: by the old trade chart, the Cowboys 3rd and 4th are worth 256 points, which is equivalent to the 3rd pick of the 3rd round (67 overall). Trading back into the 2nd will not be easy.

Now if you really believe that the 2nd-round depth this year is exceptional, you can put next year's picks into play...

I say stay put. Listening to the Draft Show on DC.com, Broaddus is pounding the table for a trade up to get Lawrence.

Rest of the crew is saying wait it out and pick at 47.

I'm with the rest of the crew. No way I trade any picks from next year, I'm going on a 2 year draft strategy to be SB contenders. D. Lawernce who I like is not worth giving up a pick for. We need good players and good depth, all of that can't come from the 7th round. Need to keep our 3rd, 4th, 5th.

Love to be able to move down with SF for pick 56 & 94 if possible.

A great draft strategy would be to do exactly the opposite of what Broddus would do. His logic is often flawed.

Is there any logical way that Dallas can trade for an additional second?

Push a 4th, and Next year's 4th or 3rd into the mix and come out with... 2 choices in the 2nd?

I think Crichton will be a better pro than Lawrence. Not need losing a depth pick in a trade when there isn't really much seperating either two guys.
