I don;t think the coaching staff believes he is soft. He played most of last year with a shoulder that needed reconstruction.

Say what you want about him, but soft guys don't gut it out like he did

Doubt it was for the best interest of the team as much as it was him knowing he doesn't want to get pegged injury riddled and he's better off fighting through the injury to not cost him some $$$ in the offseason.

They'll probably draft another CB in the 2nd or 3rd round. As long as a RG and C are drafted in the 1st or 2nd round I don't care!

Jenkins is talented, but probably not worth what he will cost.
Plus, we have far bigger needs elsewhere.
Plus, I truly think he doesn't want to be in Dallas, has a bit of an attitude (while not "bad" per se - he just doesn't seem an enthusiastic Cowboy or team guy- doesn't fit with a lot of the guys they are trying to bring in).
Overall, he just won't be a value re-signing for us, rather pick up someone else at another spot in free-agency.

Only if dirt, dirt, dirt cheap.

There have been times where people say that you can't afford to spend too much at a single position and I've always disagreed because you should work to do what helps your team the most. If you have money tied up in the secondary and the secondary is still your biggest weakness, you're an idiot to let it continue to be the biggest weakness.

If Dallas had a stellar OL and a good DL or vice versa, sure. Sign him if the value is fair.

Dallas however has OL and DL that should be addressed first. Probably safety as well because they desperately need a guy who's a coverage specialist. I like Church so I'd be more inclined to part with Sensy if it meant that there was some top quality coverage replacing him. With other pressing needs, they can't afford to take any money from those needs just to have a 3rd CB that they like.

He's not physically soft but mentally he seems to be.

Kind of has the mentality that there's no sense in trying to stop a guy near the line because he's probably gonna get in anyway.

A "defeatist" attitude, if you will.

"He's gonna get in no matter what, I might as well just let up".

"Dallas signed and drafted a CB, no sense in trying to get my rehab in".

Yep, I see that trend as well.

Having him on the team is a nice luxury that Dallas cant really afford with all the holes that need to be filled.

So on this board I've read that he was sitting out games this year to make more money next year. Now also that he played hurt last year to make more money in 2013.

Seems like we have another case of agenda vs. fact

I'd re-sign him if he's willing to come back. I think he wants more playing time somewhere else though but I think now his value has gone down enough to where we can re-sign him for a reasonable contract.

Boy, that'd make Jenkins mad re the tag. I'd be afraid to do that cause he might stay 'injured' in spite. He wouldn't dog it for fear of dropping his stock although I think he already has done that for some teams. But someone will overpay for him if he's not tagged IMO.

I think he's still the best one on one cover corner on this team, shame we wont have the money to sign him. Thanks again Jerry for paying Scandrick that ridiculous contract

It was last season.. not this one.. and all that is, is a ridiculous assumption on your part.

Both those quotes are silly and only show your attitude towards the player.. not his attitude towards the game or the team.

What evidence have you seen of ANY of these things?
