    1. Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska

    2. Christian Ballard, DE, Iowa

    3. Mike Pouncey, OG, Florida

    4. Anthony Allen, RB, Georgia Tech

    5. Ricky Stanzi, QB, Iowa

6a. Mark LeGree, FS, Appalachian St (look this kid up, by far my favorite small school prospect)

    6b. Chris Hairston, OT, Clemson

    7. Jake Kirkpatrick, OC, TCU

yeah I know, not going to be a popular mock. Took a RB and QB too early and no OL till round 3 as well as passing on the Safety position till late and grabbing another small school prospect there. Well trends are trends and I believe Jerry will address the OL via FA and as far as safety, it's just a poor year.

Definitely going to check out Mark LeGree.

If LaMichael James declares...I'd go for him or Quizz Rogers.

Overall good mock. I think Mike Pouncey will be a perennial pro bowler.

Well you know how things work around here, it's all about the arguments. If you don't give me something to disagree with you about, what do you expect? :D

why would we take another small school safety? we're already developing AoA, so there's no need to take a developmental guy

He really is a guy not many outside the scouting ranks are talking about. I have a feeling you will hear his name more as the months pass.

You went wrong right there, he's not a developmental guy anymore then any safety coming out in this draft. He's not switching positions, he's not a CB/S hybrid. He's a football player with great instincts, athletic ability and skills.

AOA never led the nation in interceptions, was never a 2 time first team All-American, was never a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award or in the running twice for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, AOA never had 22 career interceptions. What AOA had that McGree does not in uncanny athletic ability which made him a project. Had AOA only had mid line athletic ability he likely would of never seen his name called on draft day. That's a project.

How many prospects for IAA come right in and play a position? Joe Flacco did, at QB no less, but he's definately the exception to the rule.

Okay he's less of a project than AoA was last year, but atleast AoA has a year of playing in the NFL.

good, solid mock. The only pick I'd get excited over is Prince though.

I'm not sure Pouncey lasts to the 3rd or Kirkpatrick lasts to the 7th.

I didn't ask how many division 1AA players have had success, I asked how many have come in right away and had success at a position, thus weren't a project.

And out of that group you have Jerry Rice back in 85' and Randy Moss who went to division 1A Marshall (was kicked out of Florida State). As immediate super stars. Marques Colston was a project, he just suprised everyone. There may be a few others, but most were developmental guys

Then again I ask you, how many players that are drafted can not be considered projects? The percentage that come in and start right away and make a difference is so small you can consider almost any player drafted a project. I mean look at the 1st round of every draft and less then half are immediate superstars and you still have 200+ players to talk about.

Marshall moved to 1-A in 97, while they were both on the team. Besides Pennington sat for atleast 2 years and as stated Moss was kicked out of FSU

I never said immediate superstars, just guys who can come in and contribute in a base offense or base defense (no gimmick plays like the wild cat). Dez Bryant, even though he isn't starting, isn't a project. Even Sean Lee who rarely sees the field, I wouldn't consider a project because on a team with bad ILBs, he would start. A good portion of your list consist of guys who sat for a year or two and never rarely saw the field. Jimmy Smith for example was a great player, but a project (ie cut by 2 teams)

Division 1aa (now called FCS) plays considerably tougher opponents than Division 2 schools. AOA went to D2 Indiana (PA) where he was a man among boys. Appalachian State usually plays two D1 opponents every year.
