Unless there is some rare rare talent available then we have to go with OL or DL right?

Im starting to think I would use that pick on an offensive tackle. I'd like to go DL 1st but tackle has been such a killer for us this year and I think getting another guy would be a good insurance policy just in case Tyron Smith doesn't reach a high level of play at LT and we could just switch him back to the right.

I would use that pick on the top talent available and not care where he plays on the field.

BPA of a position of need.

Which will likely either be Guard or DT/NG.

I'm hoping Warmack falls to us.

Depending on where the safeties grade out, I think we could get a playmaker at FS in the first. That would be my guess. It's easier to find value in the trenches than at S in later rounds.

It's early but I think I like the North Carolina guard a little better right now.

I like Jonathan Cooper. I think Cooper has a lot of upside but he may not be as ready as others.

Warmack I think is a little overrated. He is pretty sluggish and doesn't look like he'll have any success blocking at the 2nd level in the NFL.

Agree. That was the position where I had a rare player in mind.

I don't feel good about Barry Church having a good 2013 season.

Hopefully the BPA is either a OL, DL, or S.

If it is at another position then we should still draft that player. For example: QB, RB, WR. Just give me the best player when we pick. That is all.

Jonathan Cooper will be the pick. Perfect for Callahan's blocking scheme. Last year the great DeCastro went 20 something, so Cooper should be mid to late 20's.

    OL in the 1st
    DL in the 2nd

I think Ansah might be irresistable if he is there, but I would go with best available lineman, either side.

Can't slot positions by round. What happens if Star Lotulelei falls?

Decastro went 24th, and Warmack is better. I'd take Warmack in a heartbeat.

It's early but I agree. Something about Warmack makes me think he'll struggle in the NFL. Just too sluggish looking.

Cooper has those feet that you look for and plays hard.

I don't really have that hesitation about Church, but coupling him with a ball hawk type guy gives you great flexibility, and you can have that guy and Sensi in there on passing downs to be more athletic. Get that guy to be a playmaker, and then allow Sensi and Church to each have a role would be my goal for the secondary.

I like both but did you see the Georgia game? Warmack was just dominant. His guy either blown off the ball or completely sealed off, and Georgia has several high draft picks in the front 7. I see him as a Pro Bowler in any scheme.

Cooper does play hard, and he is quicker than Warmack. Both prospects are on the same tier as DeCastro in my opinion (I just hope their knees hold up in the preseason!).

The problem with the Cowboys is opening up running lanes in my opinion. Warmack opens up more holes and played against the best competition in the country. He probably benefited from being next to Fluker and Jones.

Does Callahan's blocking scheme favor quicker/atheltic guards?

Is Kenny Vaccaro any better than Harrison Smith?

I don't think so. Another weak safety class.

You'd be a fool to slot positions to rounds. You might as well tell the scouts to go home. You can't treat the draft like it's veteran free agency.

For starters, this April, Womack (6'2) will be the shortest guard taken in round one, since atleast 1991 (Got tired of looking at that point).

And not one guard shorter than 6'3 has made the pro-bowl since LeCharles Bently in 2004.

So yea, I'd say he's over rated. And probably over weight. I just don't see him being able to line up a dominate his man all game like he does in college.

he did, but I question how much upside he has. How much stronger can he get with his frame, without becoming completely immobile.
