I think he has 1st round ability but he just isn't the playmaker you'd think he should be at this point.

Part of the reason when I joke around about getting an additional #1 for next year by trading down this year I'm joking but not really.

Landry Jones will be a mid to late round selection. He is incredibly inconsistent at home and WOEFUL on the road. If not for the incredible talent around him at OU I doubt anyone even knows his name.

James Franklin simply isnt a good enough passer to be a high pick.

The only for sure 1st-round picks are Murray and Barkley at this point. Wilson probably will be as well.

This is the exact reason why the Dolphins should not reach for Ryan Tannehill. They arent going to contend this season, and next year they can get a franchise QB.

Which is why I think Cleveland has a plan.

    Draft Blackmon
    Trade up for Richardson

    Draft Barkley next year

Now that would be a set of Triplets.

    Logan Thomas is a beast.

Seen him play a lot. Big Ben II, literally. Virginia Tech just has no receivers and tight ends.

I agree. Total beast. Smart guy too.

The good news for VT and Thomas is they will have better receivers this year.

I think Danny Coale is a great receiver, and with David Wilson as the running back you are letting the QB slide, he is just young and I agree lots of potential. My opinion is there needs to be some coaching modification with that talent.

You shouldn't be joking. People hate it, but it's always a good move, if you can manage it. If you're able to flip that second pick every year, it makes navigating the rest of the draft that much easier. You put yourself at a short term disadvantage for one season, and then have the ammunition to draft at an advantage (being able to maneuver up or down to fit your needs without compromising the number of picks you have relative to your competition) the rest of the tenure of your program.

I have no idea why NE is the only team that does this with regularity.

They've done it with using players as assets. I looked into this last year when trying to figure out how exactly they've continued to dominate the draft board in terms of total valuable picks, and it has been trading guys when you can still get something from them. They didn't want to pay Deion Branch initially so they sent him to Seattle for a first rounder, franchised Cassel after his one year and sent him for an early 2nd, and spun Seymour for a future first.

Not all of these guys will end up in the first round. I would bet on half of them not being in the mix.

still next year might be the time to use a late 2nd or early third on a developmental QB.

yeah they keep stockpiling picks but I do not see them getting much. Outside of Gronk and a few others they have been swinging and missing more often then not

Landry Jones got a 1st round grade back this year from the advisory board.

I'm beginning to question where all of these supposed 1st round qb's are going to go.

Kansas City, Denver, Miami, Cleveland, maybe Jacksonville or Minnesota if the young guys don't work.

I have a bit of a man crush on EJ Manuel for some reason. I love his size and potential. Also, I think Dayne ****** will work his way back into relevance at Kansas this year.

Just 2 guys to keep in mind as mid round QB projects.

Aaron Murray is not a 1st rounder. He's 6'1" on a good day.
